The next morning I headed downstairs, freshly showered and ready for the day.
I noticed Madi was already up or at least she was not in bed when I woke up.
"Madi?" I asked as I headed toward the kitchen.
She was not in there.
I walked into the living room and found Madi sitting on the couch with her laptop in her lap.
"Hey baby...you're at it early this morning."
"Yeah" she said, sighing. "I didn't sleep well at all so I figured Imight as well get up and work a little. I'm working from home today."
"I'm sorry you didn'tsleep well,babe." I said. "Did I snore?"
"No,Joey" Madi said,laughing a little.
"At least I made you laugh." I said.
"Thanks " She said and then sighed. "Right now....life just doesn't feel good at all,Joe. The crap you're going through, the news I found out yesterday, and frankly my job sucks right now too. I am here working at least an hourearlier than I should be,doing all of this extra work, and my boss treats people who don't do shit like royalty. I am frankly getting pretty damn sick of it."
