Chapter Thirty Five...

*Alexis's POV*

I killed someone.
I'd actually killed someone.

I literally had his blood on my hands, and all over the rest of my body...

I ran to Asher, who was bleeding heavily, I put pressure on his wound as I called Tamara over, she was staring at jacks body, i could see her small body trembling, she was going to be scared for life if we got out of this alive.

"Tamara I know you're scared, but I need your help, your dad needs your help." I told her, as she rushed over.
"Tell your dad a fun story." I told her, trying to get her mind away from what was happening in the room.
She was only six years old and was literally watching her dad bleed out after seeing me shoot a man in the head.

"Asher, keep pressure on there," I ordered him, as I stood up, "I need to find a phone." I told him, looking around the room, desperately hoping i'd find something useful.

My eyes fell on Jacks dead body, I didn't want to go near him, but I had to check.
Squatting down beside him, I cringed as I flipped him onto his back, there was so much blood.

I still couldn't believe I'd killed him, but I couldn't let him hurt Tamara, and he'd have eventually killed us all if I didn't make the move when I did.

Reaching into his pockets I pulled out his IPhone and thanked the lord when It was thumb print activated. I reached for his hand, hoping it would work.

It took a few tries but eventually the phone unlocked.
Flinging his hand away I stood up and dialed the first number I thought of.

Domenico...

Punching in his number I prayed that he'd answer.

"Who is this?" his voice echoed through the phone speakers, I breathed a sigh of relief.
"It's Alexis I need your help." I rushed out.
"Where are you? We saw you get taken, Who's phone are you using?" He shot question after question.

"I think we're in a storage room at the school." I interrupted him.

"I don't know how many people are outside." I told him, "Please be quick, he's bleeding out."

"Who's bleeding out?" he asked, frantically.
I had no idea what his reaction would be if I told him it was Asher, I couldn't tell him, he'd probably leave him to die.

"Just come quick, before they realise what's happened." I ordered him before, hanging up.

"Alexis," Asher called from across the room, by now a pool of blood was forming below him.
Running over I pulled off my shirt and kneeled down, before replacing his hands with mine.

I used the shirt to put pressure on the wound, disregarding the fact that I was now sitting in just a bra and jeans.

"You're going to make it through this." I told him, trying to stay strong.

"If I do, I could get used to that view," he gestured to me.
I snorted back a laugh, as a few tears escaped my eyes.

"Although maybe without all the blood and bruises," he added, while eyeing the blue and purple welts covering my torso and face.

I gazed at him as we waited for help, Tamara was cradling his head on her knees, she barely even noticed the blood that was matted in his hair and covered most of his face as she stroked his cheek delicately.

"Daddy," She whispered, as she continued her soft caresses.

"Yes my petal?" He replied softly, breaking eye contact with me to look into his daughters eyes.

"I love you," She told him, before breaking down again.

Reaching up he wrapped his arms around her, pulling her face down to his so their foreheads pressed together. "I love you and I will always love you." He told her, his tears leaving clean tracks through the blood coating his face.

I turned away, feeling like I was intruding on their moment.

It was then that there was a ruckus outside of the room, I heard yelling before several gunshots, and then silence.
"Use your hands Asher." I told him, as I removed mine from his stomach.

I reached for my gun, before standing up and facing the door.

"Tamara, get behind me," I ordered her; I had to make sure she was out of harm's way, I had no idea who was about to walk through the door, but I had to be prepared.

I took a deep breath as I aimed the gun at the door, tensing as the door handle jiggled, before the door swung open.

"Oh thank god," I sighed in relief, as Dom walked through the door. Only to yell "No!" as he aimed his gun at Asher.
I didn't miss a beat, diving in front of him as Dom pulled the trigger.

I felt the bullet rip through my shoulder, I hit the ground hard, my whole body radiated pain, but it was nothing compared to the pain in my shoulder.

"What the hell Alexis!" Dom yelled frantically as he ran over to where I was laying on the floor cradling my shoulder.

"Get away from her!" Tamara yelled, as she tried to push him away.
"I'm trying to help her!" He shouted at her, trying to move her out of the way.
"You shot her!" She cried, standing in front of me defensively.

"She jumped in the way!" He argued.

"Because you tried to shoot my Dad!" She replied angrily. I had no idea how she was being so brave after everything she'd just seen but somehow she was still standing strong.

"Tamara darling, go to your Dad," I told her, as I tried to sit up, to no avail, I could barely move a centimeter.
She looked at me hesitantly, before running to sit beside him.

"Dom If you try to shoot him again I swear to god I will kill you myself." I growled angrily, as I glared up at him.

"Now get us to the fucking hospital before we both bleed out!"
