Chapter One
I shuffled down long corridor after long corridor trying to find my locker, the map in my hand wasn't helping in the slightest.
Alexis Bradley is the name, I'm seventeen years old, and I have long ash blonde hair. And no, it's not always perfect with beach waves...
The majority of the time it's pulled into a messy bun, and not the cute kind, the "I don't care about how my hair looks because I'm not trying to impress anyone kind." but honestly, I do care, I just can't do messy buns to save my life. Now that we've finished the introductions, back to my first day of school.
I finally found my locker; I was on the wrong floor...
Dumping all of my books into my locker, excluding the ones I needed, I sped off to my first class, which was Math.
Math first period on a Monday, why is math always the first subject on a Monday morning?
I'll tell you why...
Math is always first period on a Monday morning because the school subject gods have it in for me, they know that I find it impossible to focus in math, let alone focus in math while I'm sleep deprived and in need of a hefty dose of caffeine. Math isn't one of my strong subjects, neither is Science, or Spanish, or Gym, or Art, or History... Okay so I suck at school all together, except maybe English, I think I do exceptionally well in English.Actually no, I suck at English too.
Standing at the doorway to hell- I mean Math, I raised my knuckles to the door and knocked.
And that was when the school blew up....
.
I'm joking; instead a freakishly large man that looked like he should be the gym teacher answered the door.
"Hello Alexis, we've been expecting you... I'm Mr McKenna, the gym teacher." Well what do ya know he is the gym teacher!I think I may be psychic...
"Sup McKenna my main man..." I replied smirking, he glared at me before leaving the room.Well that went well...
The real math teacher was sitting at her desk talking on the phone, so I just shuffled to an empty desk in the back row; which was situated next to a girl with fiery red hair and big brown eyes.
She looked as if she was vibrating in her seat as she noticed I was walking towards the empty space next to her.Oh no, not one of those girls.
"Hey I'm Lain! I bet we're gonna good mates! We'll probably be best friends, we can have sleepovers and talk about guys and have pillow fights, How's this weekend sound? Okay it's sorted this weekend it's at my house and next weekend it can be at yours! Woooo Everyone Alexis is mine! So all you bitches can fuck off!" She yelled, not letting me get anything in.
"Lain!" The teacher yelled from her desk, finally hanging up the phone. "Why the hell are you swearing?" She shouted, standing up.
"Sorry mum." Lain replied, shrinking back in her seat.
"You and I are going to be having a serious talk when we get home young lady..." Her mother told her, sitting back down."And you! Alexis is it? Say something about yourself!" She ordered, leaning back in her chair and looking directly at me. I feel like every person on earth has at least one thing in common, and that thing is that we all hate when you're asked to say something about yourself because its universally known that as soon as that sentence is spoken you will simultaneously forgot who you are completely.
Standing up, I looked around the class, "Well I'm Alexis, and I'm 17, and uhh yeah that's about it." I said, sitting back down.
"Well that was interesting." She said sarcastically, "Now everyone get out your homework from this weekend."Time flew by fast, next thing I knew I was sitting in the school cafeteria with Lain.
"-And I was like FUCK OFF I don't even know you, and she started crying like I know I'm cool and all but I need some down time ya know-... Danny!" Lain cut herself off mid-sentence as a boy who had similar features to her, walked over to our table, and sat down beside me.
"I heard mum yelled at you in math this morning." he said, as he looked at her with an amused smile. "Yeah, she said were going to have a talk when we get home," she mumbled, looking down embarrassed.
"Shame, anyway what are you guys up to?" He asked, looking over at me, then back at Lain.
"Oh you know just chillin, killin, like a villain," Lain replied, keeping a straight face.
He looked at her blankly before muttering about how he was pretty sure she was dropped at least three times as a baby...
"So Alexis, how are you enjoying your first day at this wonderful school that has so so many learning options?" He asked sarcastically.
"It's okay, No one's tried to step me out yet, so it's doing better than the last school I went to," I told him, as I picked up my tray.
