3rd POV

For the first time in four years, Luz woke up from a peaceful sleep and was happier then ever. But that happiness turned into anxiety as she remembered that today she had to tell her friends and girlfriend about the accident with Belos and her true lineage. Luz was nervous about their reactions. It took her a minute to realize however that she wasn't in her room in the owl house. She was in Amity's secret hide out in the library with Amity asleep on her chest. She then remembered that after their moment they decided to hang out in Amity's hide out to catch up. Luz smiled, this is one of the few times where she has seen this girl not stressed. Luz ran her hands through Amity's hair causing a relaxed sigh to escape the girls sleeping form. Luz lightly kissed the sleeping girls forehead and took in her alluring aroma. The girl smiled in her sleep causing her significant other to smile as well. But alas all good things must come to an end as a certain pair of twins opened the secret room.

"Knock knock." Said the green haired male known as Edric Blight, the middle child and youngest twin of the blight family that's allergic to following the rules and dairy. "Welcome back human." Said the green haired female known as Emira Blight, the eldest child and twin of the Blight family and heir to the family title and estate. "Oh, are we interrupting something?" Edric said upon seeing his little sister asleep in the humans arms. "No not at all, I was just about to wake her up so we can go to the owl house for me to explain somethings." Luz said as he lightly shook the girls on her. With a groan, Amity rose from her spot onto of Luz and stretched. "Morning Carino." Luz said to Amity as she let out a yawn that seemed so cute for such a being. "Morning love. What time is it?" Amity asked.

"Time for me to explain some things to you Willow and Gus." I said with a chuckle. "Hey, what about us?" Said a pouting Edric. Amity sighed and face palmed while Luz chucked once more. "You can come too it you want." She said. The Blight's pout turned into an excited child like look. They all left the room and made their way to the owl house. When they walked in Luz was met with a stern faced Eda. Luz got scared and as soon as Eda noticed she sighed as her face softened. "I'm not mad I was just worried. Just next time tell me when you plan to stay with your girlfriend, ok?" Eda said which caused Luz to sigh in relief and nod. "So we just got to wait for your two other friends and then we can start explaining some things." And just as Eda said it there was a knock on the door. Bile rose up Luz's throat as she was once again filled with anxiety. 'Will they think I'm weak for getting injured like this? Will they hate me for not telling them sooner? Will they stop talking to me because of this?' Those sort of questions ran through Luz's head as she thought of all the possible results of this conversation.

Willow and Gus came in and sat on the floor in front of the couch where Luz sat with Eda standing beside the couch, King in her lap, and Amity leaning into her right shoulder. Lilith kept her distance as she watched from the kitchen door way. "So I have some explaining to do. For one is why i didn't come back here until now. Truth is I told my mom about the boiling isles. Despite showing her my glyphs and the portal key she didn't believe. It wasn't like I could've used one of my glyphs to convince her either, they didn't work in the human realm until recently, not that it matters now anyways. But once she heard my story she took my glyphs and the key away from me. She hid them so I couldn't get it. She forced me into a prep school, tried to get me to forget you guys and face "reality" as she said it. I was able to come home during the summers but what was the point when I didn't have a supporter to come home to. School was torture in of itself and my mom never listened when I told her the problems I was having. Four years later, I'm home for my 18th birthday when my mom dropped the worst revelation to me as I turned 18." She said bitting her lip.

Eda listened in interest as she was not told of these span of events. She looked on in sorrow and remorse for her daughter. Luz took a deep breath before she continued. "She told me that she wasn't my biological mother. She had apparently found me in an alley way, took me in, and raised me as her own. But she never thought it would be a good idea to tell me years prior. It's not ok to hide something like that for 18 years like she did. It was almost like she wanted to control me. If I didn't know the truth then I wouldn't be able to leave or disobey her." Luz said while glaring at the floor.

Amity took Luz's hand in hers and gave it a small squeeze which comforted the girl greatly as Luz relaxed and smiled at their hands. "She found a note with me. It was from my biological mother. It explained why she left me and that no matter what, she loved me dearly. Her name was torn with age however so I had no way of telling who it was or if I even knew them but I didn't care. My mother loved me and that's all that mattered to me." Luz gave Eda a side glance and smile as she said those words. A smile which Eda returned. "After that I started arguing with my mom about not telling me sooner. I brought up the boiling isles and she mentioned getting my head out of my fantasy's. That's what caused me to snap. I used a light glyph for the first time in a while and asked her if that was fake. She didn't reply so I left the room and looked around the house for the glyphs and key before packing my bags and leaving. I stoped by a tattoo parlor to get these," Luz said as she showed off her tattoos, "and made my way to the house with the portal. I have no intentions of returning ever again, not like I could anyways. I've sealed the portal off. I can't go through anymore, can't even activate it in general, but your guys can still go through." Luz finished with a smile.

Amity held onto Luz tighter at the fact that she'll be staying for good now. Luz chuckled at her girlfriends action and kissed her forehead. Kings tail wagged in excitement as Lilith, Willow and Gus smiled at the story. After the excitement calmed down, Luz began to explain how she messed up her shoulder. Her anxiety grew with each word she said as she watched her friends faces turn to worried and shocked. There was not a single angry face. The room was quiet after Luz finished telling her story. "Wait, with time it should've at least healed even just slightly but from what you've told us it hasn't healed at any point at all and seems to have gotten slightly worse, did something happen to cause that?" Said Emira who made everyone jump at her sudden interruption. They had forgotten the twins were listening in as well.

Luz tensed up a bit before answering. "Remember when I said that school was torture? When I changed schools the bullying didn't end. It actually got worse. What was just name calling and teasing turned into physical violence and got worse each year." Luz said looking down at her hand that was still in Amity's. Amity gave another soft squeeze. Emira looked like she regretted bringing up the topic and decided to keep her mouth shut from that point forward as well as watch what she said as to not trigger the poor girl. Eda placed her hand on her shoulder as she sat down on the other side of Luz. Eda brought the girl into a hug. Luz closed her eyes at her mothers touch as she enjoyed the moment. After a while Luz pulled away from her mother before starting again. "Now on a happy note, I found something out about my biological mother." Luz said as everyone's eyes widen in anticipation for her to continue. Luz turned to Eda for her to retell her side of the story.

"Well about 18 years ago I had a daughter. Who her father was is a mystery to me even to this day but she was human. But at the time I had her I was a wanted criminal so it was too dangerous for her to stay with me. I gave her a name, a note, and sent her off to the human realm. I never saw her again after that. Or so I thought." Eda began. "When Luz first came to the boiling isles it was already 14 years after that day. She was like a living replica of what my daughter would've looked like at Luz's age. She had the same name and everything. I told Luz about this after we had put her arm in a sling. It was only brought up cause she thought I was acting motherly again." Eda smiled and turned to Luz to finish. "After hearing what happened with Eda I had my suspicions. I asked her to sign her name the exact same way she had signed the note to her daughter. After she did that I had placed them back to back and the signature was the same. Just no missing letters but the letters that were missing fit right with Eda's name." Luz said and let the gears shift in their heads. Then it clicked.

Eda was Luz's mother. Everyone cheered in happiness that the two had found each other. They decided to celebrate the occasion as well as Luz's arrival that night. They talked, laughed, ate and watched movies until the teens had to leave for home. Gus and Willow were first to leave. The Blights left shortly after. Amity had fallen asleep on Luz's arm earlier so the Blight twins decided to carry her home so she can get some much needed rest. As Luz feel asleep in her sleeping bag she felt King crawl closer to her to snuggle her and hopefully prevent any nightmares. Luz smiled in her sleep as she hugged the small demon closely.
