It seemed like hours had passed when we finally landed. It was like landing on a pillow, I couldn't tell if I was dreaming or if I was dead. I laid there for a few moments and caught my breath before getting up, brushing my pants off. "How was your trip down?" Katrina said behind me, making me jump a little. "Where the hell are we?" I asked looking around. "Damien's headquarters, that door down that hall leads to his office. This is his escape route, designed specifically for situations like this. Come on, follow me." She nodded towards the long hallway ahead. I followed her, being extra careful not to trip over anything, it was dark and my eyes still hadn't adjusted. Katrina knocked on the door, and a moment later we were greeted by Damien.

"Finally, what took you guys so long?" He said inviting us in. We took a seat on the opposite side of Damien who had a cigar in one hand and a beer in the other. "Sorry it took us so long to get here, Damien. Had some people we needed to get off our ass, somehow the hunters have tracked us down." Katrina said, wasting no time. "That's what I wanted to talk to you about. Someone was spying on us earlier today during our training session. Someone else knows about Cole's gift other than us. The safe haven is no longer a safe place for Cole; it isn't a safe place for any of us. We don't have time to waste, they've tracked us down and I'm sure it'll be a matter of hours before they come barging in here and murdering innocent people. The only people I'm worried about at the moment are Cole, you and I. Everyone else can fight for their lives." Damien said. "But you're the leader; you can't let these people die just to save ours." I said, even though half of these people I never even looked at. "I'm not the leader anymore, I'm just a survivor. Either you come with Katrina and I or you die with everyone else. I don't care if that's the coward's way, Cole." Damien said, rummaging through a drawer. He handed me a gun, "Here. You're going to need this." He said pulling out another gun and handing it to Katrina. He picked out another gun, a bigger one and stuffed it in his belt. "Follow me. We don't have much time left before the raid." He said walking over to a computer. He typed something in and a portal emerged, he then looked to me. "Now this is your last chance, Cole. Are you coming with us or not?" I didn't even have time to answer before I heard gun shots coming from downstairs. The raid had begun; it was a matter of time before they made it up here, and who knew what these people would do if they found us. I shook my head in agreement. "Alright well in you go." He said stepping aside for me to jump into the portal. I took a step forward and took a deep breath. Wherever this took us, it had to be safer than here.
