I finally got to the doors that led to where they were keeping Katrina locked up and unlocked it. I could see Katrina in the corner of the room curled up with her knees to her chest. She looked up and smiled when she saw that it was me. She got up and ran towards me and hugged me, crying with relief. I hugged her for a long time not wanting to let her go, but I knew we had to get out of there. We had no time to waste. I let go of her, "We have to get out of here. Dyson will be coming after us soon. Let's go." I said, taking her hand and walking out of the door not wasting any second. "Where is Dyson anyways?" Katrina looked at me, trying to keep up with me. "He had it coming." I smiled and continued walking down the hall. We headed up the stairs, going as fast as we could. The sound of an alarm filled the building, echoing against the walls. I could hear footsteps in the far distance running towards us. I grabbed Katrina and pulled her down a side hallway into a storage closet. I put my index finger over my mouth. The footsteps were increasing. "What do we do?" Katrina whispered. I didn't answer back. I listened for voices, I searched for them. "I don't care you have to do, you find him and you bring him to me. That kid is getting on my last nerve." It was Dyson. My heart stopped for a second. If he found me, who knew what would happen. I could hear the footsteps getting quieter and quieter until I could hear nothing. Silence filled the air, the alarms had stopped. I looked at Katrina, who was staring at me. I took a deep breath and smiled. "What do we do now?" She whispered. I didn't answer back right away; I wanted to make sure the coast was clear. I opened the door slowly and checked around the corner. I took a deep breath. "Let's get out of here." I said. I took her hand and we turned down the hall we just came from. "Do you have any idea the trouble you have caused me?" I stopped. My heart dropped when I heard his voice. I froze. It was Dyson. "I'm done playing games with you Cole, you're making me very angry." Dyson's voice was tense. I got in front of Katrina and took a deep breath. "It's over Dyson. Just let us go." I said. Dyson flexed his jaw, he was getting angrier. "Not until I get what I want. We had a deal." Dyson said. He reached into his back pocket. "Whoever broke into this place has to be on our side. You're not going to get away with this Dyson." I said, my voice shaking. "I don't know about that." Suddenly, Dyson pulled a gun out of his back pocket and pointed it at us. My heart stopped, and I could feel the air growing thicker. "Whatever you're going to do with that, whoever is in this building, is looking for us. If you pull that trigger-" He aimed it closer to us. "Enough bullshitting, Cole. I've lost my patience with you." Dyson's voice got louder. I took a deep breath. "Okay. I'll do what you want. Just please let her go. I'm the one you want. We can finish what we started and I promise I will cooperate." I took a step closer and put my hands up. I looked back at Katrina, "I'm the one he wants, Katrina. I promised Damien I would keep you safe and get you to the portal. Go, I'll catch up to you." I gave her a side smile. "I'm not leaving without you, Cole. We're in this together. I'm not leaving you, I can't." She grabbed my hand and I jerked away. "I'm not asking you, Katrina. I'm telling you. Go, I don't want you to get hurt." I choked back tears. I felt defeated, I felt hopeless that we were ever going to get out of here. Dyson had won again, and this time he was going to get what he wanted. I had no other choice. Katrina took a deep breath and gave me a hug. She cried in my shoulder. I hugged her, not wanting to let go but I knew I was running out of time. I pushed her away. She looked at me one last time and ran in the opposite direction, not looking back. I looked at Dyson. "Let's go. I'm ready." I said walking in front of Dyson down the hall, back to the white room with all the machines. Back to the place I thought I would never see again.
