Midoriya POV:
I slowly turn around and slowed my breathing, blood boiling. Although it was expected, being called anything in relation to HIM was worst than an insult. And of course, it came from the Class 1-B's Neito Monoma. He always had a grudge against Class 1-A, ever since the sports festival. Now, he had as much ammunition he would need.
Ignoring my glare, he continued, "Class 1-A used to be the popular class, the ones who would always get the recognition, despite all the trouble you caused. Well...look now!" He laughed maniacally, "Aren't you glad to have the spotlight now, One For All's son?"
I wanted so bad to bring down a Detroit Smash on his neck. I clenched my fist, trying to maintain my composure. If I let my anger slip now, then I would fail to keep my promise to Aizawa, to All Might, to Ochaco.
I began walking around him. If Kendo was here, he probably wouldn't say a word, but she didn't seem to be anywhere in sight. Iida stepped in, taking notice of me leaving.
"As fellow classmates, you don't have to right to judge someone's current actions based on their past. Take into consideration how he feels, and what he's trying to do now. Midoriya is aiming to be a hero that always saves people, so I would implore to tread carefully and treat him with respect."
Iida said the last sentence with a hidden warning beneath the surface, something I haven't seen like it since Stain took away his brother's legs. I took a mental note to thank him later and continue on my way.
But of course, it wouldn't be that easy.
"Take into consideration? Then why hasn't he done the same? If All for One was his father, why didn't he tell the police? Why try to attend the best school in Japan, where All Might would be teaching? The villains always seems to pop up at the worst time, so who else can we blame for the downfall of All Might than this traitor."
Monoma's words stopped me dead in my tracks. My head was ringing with voices telling me to ignore it, but something dark took over me.
Realizing this, he smiled and pointed at Ochaco. "Who knows, brown hair girl could have just been an accomplice as well. None of you Class A students seem impressive, but she has got to be the most pathetic-"
I turned on my toes, charging full steam towards him, while he smiled because he knew he got exactly what he wanted.
"Midoriya, no!," a voice shouted, but I couldn't hear. 6, 7, maybe 8 voices in my head shouted, but I couldn't hear. All I saw was red.
But then, in front of me, all I saw was her.
Uraraka POV:
There have only been a few moments where I've witnessed Deku's powers at full strength. Whenever he goes all out, he seemed to be more than just a hero, more powerful in strength and compassion than anyone I have ever known.
So when I stepped in between him and Monoma, I had no idea what was going to happen.
But thankfully, he saw me. And he stopped.
His fist was only a few millimeters away from my face. I released a breath, one I didn't know I was holding in. I didn't know what came over me, but I knew that I couldn't sit back and watch anymore.
He looked up at me, almost terrified, as though he was scared of what would have happened if he didn't hold back. I smiled at him, and grabbed his hand, lowering it.
Then I turned around to look at Monoma. I then pulled back and slapped him with full force across the face. The slap reverberated around the entire building. He didn't toppled over, but he did fall back a few steps, which was fine.
Because I made sure to slap him with all 5 of my fingers.
"Come on, let's go," I said, pulling on Deku's hand while Monoma yelled out threats and complained and Iida took his sweet, sweet time to slowly find a ladder.
We speedwalked through the corridors, until we found ourselves outside of the building, we went a little bit down the road until we stopped and caught our breaths. A few students and faculty members was jogging out past us, until finally it was only Deku and I.
"Thanks Uraraka, I...I nearly lost control again."
I smiled at him, "No worries, Monoma was being a butthead, so it's completely understandable."
"Yeah...," he sighed to himself, then caught his breath and slowly started blushing. Confused, I looked at where his eyes was staring and noticed it.
I was still holding his hand.
I quickly let go and started rubbing my arm, frantically covering up my embarrassment. "Oops, sorry, just spur of the moment, haha."
Before I could say another word, he reached for my hand again, this time, intertwining our fingers. My face turned beet red, and as I looked up at him, he was trying hard to overcome his nervousness.
"Hey, I want to show you something," and lead me further off the road into a forest. It was calm trail, and the sound of birds fading while crickets and cicadas' melodies filled the air.
"This is where I usually come to practice my training, where I can master my quirk without causing too much damage. But it's also a pretty calm spot, I can meditate out here."
We walked together, side by side, until we reached a tiny clearing. He walked up towards a tree, and began climbing. He offered his hand down to me, and together we traversed up the tree and sat near the very top. We could see all of U. A., and behind us was the rest of the town.
Surprisingly, even though things moved so slowly, the sun was already setting. And from this view, it looked amazing.
"Woah, this is...beautiful!"
I felt Deku's eyes traveling towards me. "Yeah, it is."
I looked towards him, heat rising up my cheeks.
I leaned in, impulse overtaking me. I felt him lean forward too, and slowly, I closed my eyes. I waited for the kiss but...
It never came.
