Moving is the worst. It's like being picked up, without warning, and being dropped off in a brand new place, and then you're totally expected to know how to cope. Total crap.
I'm practically being ripped from my pack. But the family is staying together. At least. " Karina! Come downstairs and help me with these boxes!" My mother yells from downstairs.
I groan and reluctantly get up from my new bed. Why do they need my help anyways? It's not like I asked to come here.
I can still hear the moving truck outside as I near the bottom steps. When they brought the idea up, of moving to a new town I laughed in their faces. Look at me now.
"Karina, I don't need you help anymore actually. But you can help your father outside with the moving truck."
"Mom, why couldn't I stay with grandma while you and dad get your lives together?"
"Honey, stop it. When one of us moves, all of us move!" My mother says happily, while I mouth the same words. I hated it when she said that.
"Yeah yeah, whatever."
I open the door to a very handsome guy who seems to be in mid-knock. He smiles at me and I'm entranced immediately. "Hello." He says in a deep sexy voice.
"Hi." I say in a daze. I'm too lost in his sea green eyes to formulate any words resembling the English language.
"Who's at the door, Karina?" My mother says from inside, completely ripping me from my daydream about our future lives together.
"You guys are new to town, but I'm afraid you will have to leave." He still says this with a smile on his face but the tone of his voice emanates worry.
"What do you mean?" This is escalating a bit quickly.
"You guys are werewolves. But you're trespassing on my territory."
"What do you mean?" The words tumble out of my mouth before I can stop them. I'm too afraid to know what he means but I know he'll tell me anyways.
His eyes twinkle with mischief and I find myself getting lost in his eyes again, "If you don't leave within a month. My pack and I will have to make you leave."
"Oh? You and what pack?" I scoff.
"Silent Moon." He leans against the doorway. Suddenly it feels like I've shrunk and he's grown to be a million feet tall. The Silent Moon pack is full of the most ruthless, bloodthirsty, and psychotic werewolves known in the U.S.
My jaw drops and he smirks at me. "Close your mouth baby," He says jokingly. He leans in closer and says, "You might catch flies." He smirks and closes my mouth with with the tip of his thumb. "See you at school." He winks and walks away.
