I don't know why he keeps staring at me. I already told him that I'm not interested. Can't the guy take a hint? "Karina you're not even listening!" Claire slaps at my arm playfully.

I know exactly how to play this off. "How can I pay attention when your boyfriend keeps staring at you?"
This pulls her attention away from me. She waves at him and I avoid his eyes. I can hear him get up and I pray he won't come over here. "Hey ladies." Oh god.

"Hey Luke." We both say in unison, Claire's voice takes a happy and slightly flirtatious tone while I'm just flat out annoyed.

He tries to sit down next to me but I give him a warning look. He sits next to Claire and I watch her barely conceal her excitement.
Claire begins to talk again but I'm not paying attention.
I watch as he moves in closer to get a better listen. He laughs at all the right points, but he's not paying attention either. He very subtly puts his hand on her leg.

He notices that I noticed. And she notices as well but just keeps speaking as if it's nothing big. Something hits me like a ton of bricks. Am I jealous? I look down at my fingers and play with them.

Suddenly Claire laughs out loud and I look up to see his hand still on her leg, and he's whispering something into her ear. His lips are very close, it's barely grazing her ear.

The jealousy is building up inside of me. But after being in the woods for so many months you don't have emotional outbursts over jealousy. You learn to control your wolf, no matter how badly it wants something, or someone. "I'll just leave you two lovebirds to it." I wink at Claire who is enjoying all this attention and go back to my room without looking back, because if I do I know I'll go crazy.

Later that night
I haven't come out of since lunchtime. I think I'll just get something to eat. Or I can get revenge on him for making me feel jealous.

Decisions, decisions.

I guess I should just get something to eat. I'm starving anyways. I open the door quietly and close it behind me, hoping to draw as little attention to myself as possible.

I go down the stairs past the living room where most of the pack is gathered around the TV watching some soccer game.

Luke is nowhere to be found and I don't have a problem with that. I go into the kitchen to see what they have. They made lasagna and nobody told me? That's just rude.

I take some and look for any beverages in the fridge while balancing the plate. "Do you need help?" A male voice asks.
I look up to see an extremely handsome man who looks to be around my age. Payback is a bitch.
"Nah I'm good but thanks." I flash him one of my rare smiles to get him interested.

"Why don't you smile more often?" He smiles at me back and leans against the counter.

"Don't make me regret smiling at you..."

"James." He fills in with a wink. I'm smitten, I think to myself sarcastically.

"Well James I think you'd be pretty helpful if you carried my plate up to my room." He nods and takes my plate without another word.

I follow him up to my room, well aware that people are watching. I wonder where Luke is, he's supposed to have a front row seat for this.

I open the door for him and I throw myself onto the bed. He only laughs and sits down beside me. He begins to talk but I tune him out. I laugh at all the right points. I'm beginning to get bored when someone knocks on the door.

I get up and open it, making sure to giggle as I open it. Right on time is Luke who looks surprised to see me "happy". He looks behind me at James, who has made himself comfortable on my bed.
