James didn't tell me anything about his house or family on the way to his. I was starting to worry when we'd been in the car for a good 10 minutes and he hadn't said anything at all. I was beginning to panic and was think of my last thoughts before I was going to be murdered. Mum you're amazing but don't miss me too much, Dad keep looking for a job I know you'll get one, Jay I know I don't say it much but you're an inspiration and I love you. Keep the peace between Mum and Dad. Jack even though you moved to New York me and Soph love you loads and.......
"Hey Jet you alright?" James interrupted my thoughts.
"Um what sorry?"
"Don't worry. We're here now, you coming?"

I nodded shaking the thoughts in my head out. I wasn't ready to die yet, I hadn't fulfilled my purpose but it did make me think that I really do need to get started in making a difference in the world.
The first time I looked at James' house I was surprised. I expected him to live in a massive house because he'd moved from a private school but his house was average. It was about the size of mine if not smaller but there was something odd about it, like there was a reason it was the way it was.

Weird I know.

The glow of the evening sun shone directly onto his front door like it was showing me the way. His front garden was mainly concrete with a few pots of dead flowers lined against his house. The front door was just so cute- it was baby blue with daisy chains painted around a little distorted window.

James opened the door and lead the way in to a little hallway with the kitchen coming off of it.
"Hello?" He shouted.
"James I'm in the kitchen there's no need to shout." A woman, I'm guessing it was his mum, replied.
James took his shoes off before he went any further so I followed suit. I noticed there was a pair of little welly boots in front of a cupboard.

A woman about my height came into the hall. Her hair curved around her face in almost black curls and she smiled at me. I could see that James was her son their smiles were exactly the same.
"Hello. You must be Jasmin, I'm Ness it's nice to meet you." She gushed.
"Hi. Yes but most people call me Jet. Thanks for having me."
"No worries." She replied "I can't believe you're friends with my James. He hasn't had many girl friends."
"Mummmm" James whined, "Stoppppp. What's for dinner?" He wondered, changing the subject. I just laughed at his embarrassment but I was honored to be a 'girl friend.' Maybe in losing Jack I'd gained James. Who knows?

Ness led us into the kitchen where four plates sat on the table filled with pie, chips and peas. One plate was plastic and smaller than the others.

"James d'ya want to go and get Max for tea please." Ness asked. James left to go get thus Max while Ness pointed me to my seat.
A little boy with dinosaur pyjamas came padding into the room with James dawdling behind him.
"Chip-chop Jamesy!" He lisped. "I'm hungry!"
Ness rolled her eyes. "Come on boys be nice we have a guest."
"Max." James said as he sat down,"this is Jet she's staying for tea, ok?"
Max nodded.
Ness told me that her and her family always say a prayer before they eat. "Would you like to do it?" She asked me.
"Sure." I replied. Now don't judge me but yes, I am a Christian so I was used to this.
"Dear Jesus, thankyou for our lovely food and thankyou for Ness who prepared it for us. In Jesus' name, amen."
"Thankyou Jet, shall we eat?" Ness smiled as she started eating. The dinner was absoloutely delicious. I found out that Max was four and went to my old primary school. Apparently, when he got older he wants, and I quote 'to be a blue and green stripey t-rex with fluffy slippers and antenae like a bug.' I completely agreed with him. I mean at least he's got aspirations, right?

After dinner I had to excuse myself after my offer of washing up was declined. Dad had text me with "urgent urgent can you come home?" I wasn't sure what was going on but I was hopeful that it involved work.
