As if!

I made it! I made it! I made it! I made it! Woooo! In case you we were wondering when me and Soph had gotten home and realised we couldn't watch a film because we were too excited, we looked at our sixth form options. It turns out both me and Soph have the right amount of points to get in. So now we're on our way to sign up- I want to go to Pruffy Major and Soph is going to go Oakbridge College. We've spent the 5 minutes trying to decide which one we should go to first but the argument died down after a repeated cycle of 'mine'
"No mine"
"Er no mine."
In the end I just gave up because I remembered entrants must sign up by 4pm and it's currently 3:15pm.

As we left the house we were greeted by a small red car parked just outside Soph's.
"Er Soph?" I asked.
"Yeah?"
"Who's that?"
"Not sure should I as-" Soph was cut off by the driver rolling down the window. He took in both of our appearances, my 'can't-go-wrong' outfit and Soph's gorgeous-but-only-took-5 minutes look, whilst she clearly checked him out and held back a smile.
"Do you guys know where Pruffy Major is?" He inquired.
Soph was too shocked by his appearance so I said in my totally-not-inwardly-freaking-out-voice 'Yeah we're about to go there after we've been to Oakbridge it's about a 10 minute drive.'
He nodded and seemed to think for a second "Bit random but did you wanna lift?"
I stammered "Errr" at his forwardness, but Soph cut me off
'Sure thanks we'd love to!'
Now I couldn't help but laugh at this and neither could the boy but Soph just scrambled into his car a bit baffled and I followed still chuckling to myself.
The boy turned around 'In? Alright.'

We headed off in comfortable silence until I thought wait what if he's like a serial killer but would a serial killer be that fit? I mean if he was how would he have time to go to the gym?
'I have plenty of time to work out trust me'
wait WHAT!
He smirked. 'Yeah you did just say I couldn't be a serial killer 'cos I'm fit.'
I spluttered 'err yeah er well like theoretically you err might still be a serial killer err I mean like.'  I mentally hoped my telepathic best friend powers would work and Soph would save me. And she did!
"What she means is" Soph butted in, hallellujah I thought "we don't actually know who you are do we so you could, in theory, be anyone."
A wave of sudden realisation crossed the fitties face "Ah I see. Well, I'm James Matton and I'm planning to go to Pruffy Major as apparently one of you are."
"Jet is and I'm Sophie but call me Soph" She told James.
"Jet?" He raised his eyebrows at me. "Are you like really fast or something?"
"Nah"  I replied, "It stands for my all my names but my name's Jasmin."
"Ohh ok well we're here." We'd arrived at Oakbridge.

The second Soph saw it she fell in love with it all over again. It was like she'd forgotten what it looked like in October at the open evening and needed to keep looking around to see where everything was. I could see why, it had Soph written all over it. From the expertly designed benches, to the bright tetris shaped dorms it was easy to see what she like about it. As we headed towards the main entrance as sign read 'only entrants allowed- family and friends are welcome in the cafe.' It was quite annoying really that I had to ditch my best friend but at least I could actually get to know James better. James and I went to the cafe, agreeing to meet Soph there.

We sat down in a comfortable silence and I begun looking at all the other people in the cafe. There were proud parents beaming at each other as if to say,
"We did it, our job is complete."
But there were the ones whom, from first glance looked happy, but from a moment studying them you could realise that maybe Oakbridge wasn't there favourite college and was only the backup. However, I knew that Soph was over the moon and that she was going to love it here no matter what others thought of the college.

Bringing me out of the trance, James asked, "What school do you go to?"
I was a bit confused because I thought he knew that I was going to Pruffy Major until I realised he meant high school.
"Uh." I replied, "I go to Surham High School, what about you?"
James hesitated. "You probably don't know it, it's uh, it's St. Walner's Public Boy's School in Lincolnshire?"
"Oh ok," I didn't really know what to say.
James blurted "No no no please don't act like I'm any different from you just 'cos it's a private school, honest I'm just the same as you, really I am!"
"Woah calm down", I soothed, "I didn't know what to say next I didn't mean 'oh ok' in a judgemental way."
James sighed "thanks Jet everyone just assumes I'm different, you know?"
I nod.

James and I sit and watch the world go by making comments such as "that cake looks amazing" or "woah look at that dog." Finally Soph returns, a wadge of paper shoved in her new bag.
"Guys!" she says excitedly, "have you seen this place it's amazing like seriously they even have an entire room dedicated to wool and thread, imagine the wonders I can make out of it and they have a trip around Christmas time to a bag production company in France. Eeeeeek" She squeels, " I just can't wait!"

We all decide to head to start walking to the car and even as we drive to Pruffy Major Soph rambles on and on about the Textiles and Art course she is taking. No details are spared as we hear about the supplier of paint, the assignments and even the fact that the teacher has one eyebrow bushier than the other.

What can I say? Friends are there to entertain us, right?
