- Dale -

First day at the university and it's already getting in to me! I don't like people around me, I wanna feel isolated but I'd be damned if I don't get to know a few folks. I've decided to major Information Technology and minor in Chemistry. A lot of you might say that Chemistry is boring but I enjoy it a lot. Connor would hit me all the time, asking why I like Chemistry.

The scene was so much different from high school. You get to meet all sorts of people, new personalities and heck the place is just... AMAZING. I think that's an overstatement, the entire university is overwhelming.

"Dale, what time is your first lecture? Mine is about to start in about fifteen minutes." Connor walked right next to me to the library. We still have to get our IDs done and get a student manual for freshies.

"Let me check my timetable, I think mine is about to start to." I browsed through my files and found a copy of my timetable. "First Class is Inorganic Chemistry. Chem Labs." I pointed the direction of my first lecture.

Connor rolled his eyes but walked along beside me. "Did you really have to do a minor in Chemistry? I feel like it's too excessive for you." Connor asked.

"It's not like I'm just going to take random papers to cover my other credits. Besides, it's fun." I smiled at him, as I held his hand. For some reason, I think his hands got a bit bigger than mine. Maybe it's just sports that's making a lot of difference.

"I just don't want you to over-stress. This is not high school anymore where we can just ignore everything and still get high grades." He took a deep breath and held it in his mouth before blowing it all out at once.

"You just want to keep me and my attention to you all the time, right?" I asked, smirking. Damn, Connor just wanted me for himself and I like it.

"It's not like we're not sharing the same apartment really, even though our parents still live around here." That's true though. It took a while of convincing for our parents to let us take our own apartment. We told them that we need to have some sort of privacy and we wanted to experience living on our own.

"You know, I was thinking if they offer part-time jobs here as well. Could easily pay off our rent every week." I said to Connor as we nearly approach the Chemistry Department Building.

"Here you go again Dale. Don't over-exert or you'll stress yourself out. If anything, I can do part-time jobs while you study harder. You did not get that scholarship for nothing." He said, kissing my forehead.

"I mean if you work in a strip club, don't bother. I'll be paying you more than what you would get. Plus extra." I teased him, winking at the same time. A slight tint of pink ran through his face in embarrassment.

"Dale! That was just a joke. Jeez... But... I know you'd always know how to make things interesting." He teased back at me, as he pulled me by my waist closer to him. His face was a few inches away before our lips collided.

"You idiot. I will hit you next time you pull that off again." I smacked his shoulder and pushed myself off of him. "I'll see you later at lunch?"

"Yeah I'll see you at lunch. Bye Connor, I love you." I kissed his cheek one more time and waved goodbye. He walked back inside the library.

I tread carefully inside the building, seeing how small the hallways are before I could find my lab for today. The cramped space plus the slippery floor just triggered my slight claustrophobia. Then I felt a hand tap on my shoulder.

"Are you lost?" Ask a guy in black plaid, his hair swept to one side.

"Err sort of." I nervously replied.

"You know there's a map here right? I figured it'll be easier to find your classroom. I'm kinda looking for mine as well. What room are you looking for?" The guy asked once more.

"Uhm CH17. Should be around here somewhere, right?" I said, as I approached the legend that was on the wall.

"I'm heading that way too. Guess you're talking Chemistry as well?" He enquired once more.

"Uhm no, I'm actually taking Information Technology and minored in Chemistry. Seems weird, according to my boyfriend at least." I rolled my eyes, knowing what Connor would have said.

"Nah, I think it's... interesting. Anyways, I kinda forgot to introduce myself to you. I'm Jace. What's yours?" We walked together to our lab, through the long hallway.

"I'm Dale, nice to meet you." I said with a smile, sort of welcoming him. "Are you from here or do you just flatting?"

"I actually live just the next town over, so it's not that far for me to drive from here. Do you live here in town?" He opened the door and we proceeded in. We took the table somewhere in the middle.

"Yeah, my parents' house is just a few minutes drive from here but me and my boyfriend decided to move into an apartment. You know, have some privacy." I placed my backpack next to my seat.

"Oh yeah totally get that. I remember my ex telling me that back then that we'll move out on our own when we get to uni." He placed an arm on the table and rested his head on it.

"Say you wanna come for lunch with my boyfriend later? If you don't mind." I invited him. For some odd reason, I felt comfortable asking Jace about this.

"Nah bruh, me and some of my mates are going to the beach later. Thanks for the offer though, maybe next time." He just finished saying that as a man in white coat came inside.

Oh well, at least I made a new friend today. I wonder what Connor is doing right now.
