- Dale -

Five years later.

"Dale, I swear you've become such a pain in the ass. How can you wake up so late for your appointment?" Connor pushed me off the bed. I fell down face first and he couldn't even care less about me. I got up and noticed him frantically pacing back and forth trying to get some clothes from our closet, dropping them all at one on my back.

Then I had a sudden realization that I got an interview for a game studio. I applied for a Junior Game Developer and it's been my dream to get this job and I don't want to miss this!

"Connor! Why didn't you wake me up? You know that today's the day and I don't want to be late!" I began scrambling for and headed towards the shower. But before I got inside, Connor grabbed me for a quick kiss. I smacked his ass and he headed out of our bedroom.

I took the quickest and cleanest shower I could possibly take and got dressed appropriately, well still getting that pretty informal vibe. The HR said that we don't have to wear any really formal outfit as long as it's decent and presentable. So that's what I did: white long sleeved shirt and denim jeans and my favourite pair of black Vans with rainbow stripes. Talk about being yourself in the interview.

"Well aren't you about to have breakfast with us?" Connor stood right next to our kid, Christian as they both sat at the table and already having breakfast before me.

"Good morning Dad!" Christian got up from his chair and kissed me on my cheek. I know everyone said that it's too early for me and Connor to settle down and we should have enjoyed life after graduation. We did travel for about three months after, but then we just suddenly decided it was time.

"Good morning Chris, I'm sorry I can't drive you to your daycare today. Dad's got a job interview." Chris shook his head. "No Dad, that's fine. Daddy's driving me there anyways."

We adopted Christian when he was around three years old. It was weird at first because me and Connor couldn't even take care of ourselves, let alone having a kid. But it just sort of  worked out for us. Now Christian is going to this pre-school near Connor's school that he was teaching Physical Ed and coaching football and basketball.

I planted a kiss on Chris's head and quickly grabbed a toast from the plate. "I have to go now. I love you both."

"Dale, wait! Check the time." I gave Connor a confused look, but checked the clock on the wall anyways. My eyes grew wide when I realized that I was way too early.

"Gotcha." Connor snuck behind me and wrapped his arms around my waist, and kissed the back of my neck. I smacked him on his thighs.

"Way to trick me and almost gave me a panic attack." I pouted, and saw Chris giggle. Connor was still trailed kisses on my neck. "Stop that, our kid's watching us."

He eventually stopped and forced me to sit down for breakfast as well.

"Did you two planned about this?" Connor and Chris looked at each other, holding back their giggles but failed miserably.

"Nooo we didn't. But we just wanted you to have breakfast on the day of your interview and  say that we're wishing you all the best." Connor slid a plate of waffles and bacon and a cup of coffee in front of me.

"You guys are the worst." I rolled my eyes and all of us burst into laughter. We had a lighthearted chat while eating. Connor cleaned up our plates after our breakfast. Me and Chris waited for him to be done, as he'll drop us both off to out destinations.

Chris was the first to be dropped off at his day care. He ran to the entrance where a teacher greeted him and led him inside. He waved at us before turning his back at us, having a conversation with his teacher.

"Are you scared babe?" Connor rubbed the back of my hands, seeing how anxious I was getting, as we drove off.

I closed my eyes and huffed. "You know I've been working as freelance at Uni for tutorials and this will be a nice change of pace for my career."

He lifted my hand that he was holding and kissed it. "You'll do great, Dale. I know you'll have this in the bag."

"I really hope I do. I know that they said that this interview is just for formalities but I wanted this badly." Connor let go my my hand and cupped my cheek after pulling over on the side.

"Like I said, you'll do just fine. If not, even better. You are smart and sexy all in one package!" I adore how Connor can say things like this without any hesitation. He tilted up my head and our lips crashed on one another. My lips slightly parted and he took this opportunity to explore my mouth.

After that steamy make-out session in his car, I checked the time once more then got out of the car. "I'll call you after the interview. Wanna have lunch together?"

"Sure, I don't have any class afterwards anyways, but I have football later. I'll try go get home early. I love you Dale."

"I love you too Connor. Drive safe!" He waved at me and drove off. I took one more look at the place where my new beginnings will start.

Beginnings, I always love the sound of that word. I've always hated endings since it always meant that everything had to be done and will not continue. Beginnings is just opening a new chapter in life, while continually living on your current one.

I stepped inside the building, knowing that I have my family to support my dreams. Me and Connor have Christian to keep us both grounded, foot locked in place, steady and firm.

But most especially, I have Connor, my husband. my partner forever, my soulmate. I don't think my life wouldn't have been better if I hadn't met him at all.

I love you Connor Ward. Forever and always.
