"And you must be the man screwing my ex-fiancé," he says.
***********************************************************************************************
Derek stood there for a couple of seconds, feeling the cool air waft over his body. He looked at the couple in front of him, and couldn't believe what just happened.
Andrew broke the silence, grabbing Addison's hand.
"We'll be going now, we have a meeting with the chief of surgery. I think you should go after her, but be careful, she's a little- you know." Andrew said while making a rotating motion with his finger near his head.
Derek couldn't believe what he heard, this asshole was saying that about his Meredith.
Before Derek could say anything, Andrew was already walking away with Addison at his side. Derek wanted to march after them and punch Andrew in the face. He shook himself out of his thought.
He had to find Meredith.
Derek ran his hand through his hair as he looked around the parking lot for Meredith. He spotted her purse on the ground near the back alley. His heart sunk in his chest as he immediately started making his way towards her.
Derek peeked his head into the dark alleyway and he spotted Meredith, she was sitting on the ground, her back against the wall, with her head in her hands. He heard small sobs and sniffs coming from her fragile and small-looking body. He frowned and made his way over to her.
Derek kneeled and put his hand on her shoulder, Meredith jumped back at his touch and looked at him with wide, scared eyes. He saw every emotion in her now forest green eyes, they were a shade darker than her normally bright, twinkling emerald orbs.
Derek saw sadness, anger, disgust, all in just one glance, her eyes being the gates to her soul.
Her expression softened as she processed who he was. She gave him a sad smile and wiped her cheek.
"Oh... It's just you... I thought you were him" she stated as she let out a deep sigh. He felt her warm peppermint breath caress his face.
Him
Derek felt his blood starting to boil, he had made her so upset.
That asshole had hurt her, and Derek wanted to rip his head off with his bare hands.
Meredith noticed his sapphire eyes burning with rage and she put her hand on the side of his head, caressing his cheek softly with her thumb.
"Derek... it's okay... I'm okay.. just- sit with me for a while and cool down..." she said as he relaxed into her touch. The rage stilled for a moment as he sat down next to her, putting his arm around her. He rubbed her shoulder softly and her head rested on his shoulder.
After a few minutes of silence, Meredith broke out of the embrace, turning to face Derek.
"Derek... who was that woman? Addison? Is that her name?" she asked, her tone calm and collected.
Derek felt his blood start to boil again as it all rushed back to him. He felt himself reliving the memory of catching her last year...
>FLASHBACK<
Derek turned the key, unlocking his front door. As soon as he stepped in, he knew there was something wrong.
He kicked off his shoes and put his briefcase down. He went to put his coat on the hanger and noticed a familiar coat there... Weiss's coat.
