The sweet smell of cinnamon rolls drifted through the air, making Kenma's mouth water as the taste grazed over his tongue. His eyes shot open. He glanced down beside him, expecting to see a sleeping Kuroo, but instead found an empty bed. He raised an eyebrow as he curiously tiptoed out into the kitchen, stopping as he saw Kuroo standing there, carefully crafting delicious warm cinnamon rolls.
"Ayy goodmorning Kitten!" He grinned, showing off the glistening rolls. Kenma rolled his eyes, "Maybe you should give up on being a chemist and become a baker," he teased. Kuroo frowned and then shrugged, "Hmmph! None for you!" He warned picking up one and biting into it. Kenma frowned and gave him a pitiful glance. "Please~?" He asked sadly. Kuroo shook his head, "Goddamit, I cant say no to that face..." He groaned. Kenma smiled, "I know you cant-" he winked.
Kuroo handed Kenma a warm cinnamon roll and waited for a response. "So, how are they?" He asked curiously. Kenma's eyes widened as the pastry melted in his mouth. "They're so good!" He exclaimed. "Glad to see you like them," Kuroo smirked. "Should I make them more often?" Kuroo questioned. Kenma nodded, "Yes chef!"

Kenma was sitting on his bed while Kuroo showered and got dressed. He was scrolling through his phone, checking his unread texts and emails. Most of them were junk but he found a few funny pictures his friends had sent him. He stopped as he noticed something that stood out to him. A simple text that said,'Meet me outside of the bar downtown, I have something to show you.'
"What the-" Kenma said, confused as to what this meant.
Maybe they had the wrong number?
He looked at the date, and saw that they sent it only a few hours ago. He sighed and wrote down the message, shoving the tiny piece of paper in his worn out pocket.
Kuroo entered the room, making Kenma jump as he asked, "Whatcha got there, Kitten?" Kenma shrugged and sighed, "Just a reminder to take out the trash," he explained. Kuroo raised an eyebrow in confusion but let it go.
"Well I'm gonna go out for a little bit, I'll see you later Kuro," Kenma told him as he picked up his backpack, carefully placing his Nintendo switch inside. Kuroo nodded, "Be safe," he reminded him. Kenma nodded and hugged Kuroo, giving him a small nuzzle as he turned to exit the room.
Kuroo stood there, confused as to where he was going.
I wonder what he's doing.... He thought as he slipped on a black hoodie.

Kenma strolled down the familiar street, blinking rapidly as the hot sun blinded him. The gentle breeze brushed against him, making his long hair dance in the wind.He pulled out the piece of paper from his pocket and sighed as he glanced up at the bar which stood in front of him.
He slowly walked up towards it, peeking his head around the corner. He noticed a dark alleyway that cut down the side of the bar. He saw a cat prancing around by the dumpster, so he creeped over to it, trying not to scare it off.
"C'mere kitty~" he said as he coaxed the orange tabby cat. "Meowww~" it purred as it brushed against his leg. He giggled and went to pick it up, feeling a pair of cold hands grip his shoulders. "What the hell-" he blurted out, whipping his head around to see who it was. "Kuroo this isnt funny-" he laughed, stopping as he realized something.
That wasn't Kuroo.
That was a stranger.
