I woke up in a cold sweat, my body shaking violently. I wiped the sweat off my forehead with my sleeve, struggling to catch my breath. My thoughts raced as I came back to my senses.

I threw the covers off my bed, standing up. I stretched my back before heading towards the bathroom. My eyes had dark circles under them from lack of sleep. I splashed cold water on my face attempting to wake myself up a little more. I hopped into the shower, feeling the hot water run down my body.

I stepped out of the shower, my hair messy and wet, sticking to my forehead. I sighed as I dried it, letting it stay in its natural state. I never really styled my hair anymore because I felt like it made me look alot younger. All of my friends agreed.

I put on a black button down shirt with some nice black dress pants. I wore a necklace with a cat on it around my neck. It was actually a gift from someone I had gotten like five years ago.

I grabbed my keys and my wallet and headed downstairs. My mother smiled at me as she saw me enter the room.

"My my, what a handsome fellow!" he exclaimed happily. I smiled and blushed in embarrassment.

I poured myself a glass of coffee and slowly sipped the hot, black liquid.

"When are you leaving?" she asked as she washed off a few plates.

I shrugged."Probably pretty soon."

She nodded and continued washing them. "Tell him I said hi, sweetie!" she told me, giving me a grin as she hugged me tightly.

I chuckled under my breath. "I will mom."

I headed out of the house, closing the door behind me. I strolled down the sidewalk, the gentle breeze blowing against my pale skin. The sun shined down on me. It was the beginning of spring.

I made my way to a flower shop owned by one of my mother's friends. I opened the glass door, entering the shop. The smell of thousand of freshly cut flowers drifted through the air, satisfying my senses. The smiling face of Mr. Sato looked up at me.

"Well if it isn't my favorite boy! How are you today Kuroo?" he said enthusiastically. I chuckled and smiled softly.

"Hello Mr. Sato. Im doing well, thank you" I replied. I glanced around the shop, admiring all the flowers.

"Beautiful day today isnt it?" he said happily, trimming the ends off of a few flowers.

"It sure is," I smiled, picking up a large bouquet of yellow roses. I walked over to the register, handing him the bouquet.

"Ah! I bet a special someone will be very pleased to get these gorgeous flowers!" Mr. Sato said as he carefully put them into a flower bag.

I smiled and nodded, "I hope so," I laughed.

"Have a good day Kuroo! Be safe!" He hollered as I left the store. I turned around and waved as I exited.

I walked in the opposite direction, waving as I passed a few of my friends. I waved to Lev and Yaku as they practiced on the outdoor volleyball court.

I walked through the bright green, fresh spring grass. I looked at my watch and smiled.

"Just on time..." I said quietly to myself.

I squinted as I looked up at the warm sun. The clouds lightly dotted the blue sky, making a unique pattern with their white, fluffy masses.

Birds chirped and sang their happy songs.

A smile formed on my rosy face as I walker closer. "Hey Kitten," I said happily. I sent down the roses. I could almost feel his warm smile.

"It's been a while," I said, sitting down beside him. Today was the third anniversary of his death.

"I brought you some roses. Yellow roses actually, because I know those are your favorite," I said quietly. I neatly arranged the flowers in the vase next to his grave, removing the old ones.

"I've missed you tons. I actually found an old video of our first volleyball game yesterday," I chuckled.

The breeze blew the grass around me. "I also turned twenty one last week. I know I'm such an old man now," I joked, knowing he was laughing at me right now.

I could pictire his perfect smile as I sat there, talking to him.

The air smelled sweet today, kind of like cinnamon rolls if I'm being honest.

"Oh, yeah, my mom said to tell you hi. She misses you alot. My dad isnt around as much anymore, but I know he misses you too. Everyone does," I told him, an aching feeling becoming more apparent in my chest. I put my hand on the side of the grave stone. I smiled at the name.

Kenma Kozume.

I laid down on the cold grass, resting my head on my hands. I stared up at the blue sky as I laid next to his grave. Each year, on the day of his death I would visit his grave and spend the whole day talking to him, telling him about my day and catching him up on everything that had happened. I would end up falling asleep next to him, sleeping under the bright stars. It brought me comfort to be by him.

Whenever I wasn't next to him, I had these awful nightmares.

A recreation of that day.

The day I lost everything.

The end.
