The team were briefed and knew exactly what to do. Get in, find Brook, the doctor and the serum as well as recapture Thompson and get out. That was it.
Under Dr Arton's instructions, the Avengers infiltrated the base with ease. The only one not to join them being Banner. He opted to stay behind and wait on the quinjet in case the team were in need of a code green. Meeting at their rendezvous point on the south side of the facility the team split off into groups of three. Steve, Sam and Wanda. Nat, Clint and Thor. Tony, Rhodey and Vision. Bucky, Pietro and Loki.
Loki was the only one not to be very impressed with his group. "How humiliating." He grumbled to himself as he begrudgingly kept pace with his teammates down one of the many corridors of the place. Bucky rolled his eyes.
"I don't like it any more then you do, Lacki."
"It's Loki."
"I don't care." The super soldier dismissed with a glare. Pietro simply rolled his eyes at the older men and tried his best to ignore them. The pair were too distracted with glaring at each other that they didn't notice Pietro shake his head.
"Save it for the quinjet will you both?" The Maximoff muttered to himself as he picked up the pace to walk ahead of the pair. Bucky furrowed his eyebrows at this but before he could question it Steve's voice rang through his ear piece.
"Anyone find anything?" Rogers asked.
Pressing a finger to his ear, Bucky sighed. "Nothing yet." He paused. "What about you?"
"Nothing here. We're still looking. Anyone else?" A chorus of no's followed after that before the team went radio silent again.
Bucky and Loki somewhat pushed their differences aside as they jogged to catch up with Pietro who had ran off further down the corridor before disappearing round a corner.
"Pietro!" Bucky whisper yelled in an attempt to gain the kid's attention but all he was met with was silence. Loki glanced at him raising an eyebrow.
Before Bucky could call out to him again, Pietro spoke. "Urrr... guys?" He called just as the pair rounded the corner. "I've found her." He said as he glanced over his shoulder to Bucky and Loki. Both of whom stopped in their tracks, their eyes widening much like Pietro's had done.
Down the corridor blocking their path was Brook, staring blankly at them. An emotionless expression on her face. It was the one expression Bucky hated seeing.
"Brook?" The Winter Soldier questioned as he takes a step forward but the teen just stares lifelessly at him. Giving Bucky a quick and concerned side glance Loki turns his attention back to the teenager. This was probably one of the only times the Asgardian was confused by what was going on.
"Brook it's us, we've come to take you home. You're safe now." Pietro tries, over taking Bucky and stepping a little closer but Brook gives him the same reaction. Nothing.
Then Loki speaks up. "What's wrong with her? Can't she see us?"
"She's still under their control." Bucky muttered as he glanced to Loki who tilited his head.
"What?" Loki questioned in confusion but Bucky didn't respond. Instead he turned to Pietro.
"Pietro back away from her." Bucky instructed with concern. The memories of their time at Hydra together running through his mind. Pietro seemed confused but did it anyway.
"What do we do?"
"We need to knock her out." Bucky answered.
"What?!"
