Jocelyn's POV

~the following Saturday~

The week went by really fast. The girls got to know the gang real quick. They still just sat there awkwardly though. I loved being outta the girls home. I could tell Soda and Pony were happy to be back. Darry was also happy, he was in a happier mood. Soda and I went back to working full time at the DX. Things were slowly going back to normal. Soda and Lavender are leaving for the drive-in soon. I was hanging out with Pony in the backyard.

"I can't wait to go to the drive-in. It's been to long" Pony said.

"I can't wait either! I don't always like the movies they play, but it's still fun to go" I said.

"You, Soda, and Steve need to play that one game of cards and you need to win. I wanna go to the drive-in with the gang"

"Remember last time we went to the drive-in with the gang?" I laughed.

"Yeah" Pony laughed.

"Two-bit got so drunk, he started hugging Darry and called him Mickey Mouse"

Pony and I started laughing even more. Soda and Lavender were about to leave, so we went inside. We walked into the living room where everyone was. Darry was giving them rules. After Darry finished talking, Soda and Lavender left. Pony and I waited a few minutes before leaving. When we left, we walked to the drive-in and snuck in. We found were Soda and Lavender were sitting. We snuck past them and sat in the back.

"Y'know I didn't think Soda was gonna ever go out with someone after what happened with Sandy" Pony said.

"I thought the same thing about Dally because of what happened with Silvia" I said.

"I guess they just had to find the right person" Pony said. I looked at Soda, he seemed happier then usual. It made me smile. I started watching the movie. A few minutes later, someone had walked up behind us and scared me. It startled me. I turned around to see who it was.

"I hate you Shepherd" I laughed.

"Come here Curtis" Shepherd said hugging me. "I'm so glad your outta that home"

"I am too" I said letting go of him. He sat down next to me.

"So, you two spyin' on Soda?"

"Yup, he asked my friend out. So of course we had to spy."

"And where's the rest of your gang?"

"Two-bit and Steve went to Bucks with Dally. Johnny and Darry are just hanging out"

"Alright, well I'm joining you two. What's up with you kid?"

"Not much, just happy to be outta that home" Pony said.

Shepherd nodded and started watching the movie. The movie wasn't that interesting, but I was just happy to be at the drive-in. Shepherd had got up to get snacks at one point. The movie was almost over. I looked over at Soda and Lavender.

"Pony look" I said elbowing Pony. He looked over at them.

"Y'know that reminds me of when Soda w-" Shepherd started to say.

"Shut it" I said. He laughed.

"Why am I so happy that they just kissed?" Pony asked.

"Dunno, but we need to leave soon. We gotta beat them home" I said.

"Well, ima head to Bucks. Cya later, nice to have you two back" Shepherd said.

"Cya" Pony and I both replied. Shepherd stood up and left. We stood up shortly after and snuck out of the drive-in. We took the back roads, so we wouldn't get caught up with Socs. We made it home before Soda and Lavender. We got inside and Darry stood up.

"Well?" Darry asked.

"They kissed!" Pony said.

"Wow, you guys really don't give each other privacy" Kenna said.

"We won't spy on you, it's just the gang." Pony said.

"Are we not part of your gang?" Kenna asked.

"Of course you are" I said.

"Sorry, I'm still adjusting to having girls in the gang" Pony said. I looked at him.

"Pony, this may be surprising, but your sister is a girl" I said. Johnny started laughing.

"You know what I mean by that"

"I'm just messin' with ya"

Pony and I walked over to the couch and sat down. A few minutes later, Soda and Lavender walked in. I looked over at them.

"Sooo, did you two have fun?" I asked.

"You spied, didn't you" Soda said not surprised.

"Yup" Pony and I both said.

"Wow, you weren't joking when you said that" Lavender said.

"We warn you people about everything and yet, none of you ever believe us!" I said.

"Well, to answer your question Joy. I had fun, I won't speak for Lavender though" Soda said.

"I had fun too. I've never been to a drive-in. Joy, now I see why you like going so much" Lavender said. I smiled. They sat down and we talked and hung out for the rest of the night.

Dally's POV

~a few days later~

It was a Wednesday afternoon. Joy had finished her day at the DX, so we went to the diner for some food. We walked around town for a bit.

It was around 6PM, so we decided to go back home. Darry should be home. We were walking home and we were just talking. We were almost home.

"Joy, wanna go to the drive-in Saturday?" I asked.

There was no response. I looked over to where she was standing, she wasn't there.

"Jocelyn?" I said in a panic.

I looked all around me, there was no sign of her. I ran home and swung the door opened. Everyone turned and looked at me.

"You ok Dal?" Johnny asked. Darry stood up.

"Where's Joy?" Darry asked. He didn't look to happy.

"I don't know!" I said with fear in my voice. The room became dead silent.

"What do you mean, you don't know?" Soda said standing up.

"I don't know! We were walking home and we were talking! I asked her a question and she didn't reply! I looked at where she was and she wasn't there! I then looked around me, but I didn't see her!" I explained.

"You lost our sister?!" Pony said standing up.

"We were talking and then she just disappeared!"
