23 - Yes, I am ready

Vijay's POV :

" Cut it...!! Come on vijay. What's wrong with you? Come on... Come on..
focus on the shot vijay " shouted the director irritated from behind the screen.

He was on the verge of bursting up. Why won't he... This is the 4th take we are doing the same shot. All credits goes to me.

It's the simple scene of me calling the actress whose back is facing me by tapping on her shoulder & in response she turns towards me. Very simple right. But I messed it up this time too

That's it... Director lost his cool this time and threw the Mike on assistant director(AD) in anger. Poor guy, the AD became scapegoat for director's anger totally because of me. I feel sorry for him.

" I am really sorry.... I need a break" I said to AD and the actress infront of me. I moved from there & sat on my chair. "Siva... I need a strong coffee" I asked my assistant Siva for coffee.

"What happened vijay? You look disturbed. Is everything ok ? " asked Sai pallavi, the actress of the film. She took the seat beside me as the director gave break on my request.

" I am really sorry. I am not in my sound mind. Because of me, you need to take so many takes " I apologised her genuinely for wasting her time.

" It's okay vijay. I can understand. Sometimes our brain doesn't listen to us. You better handle the thing which is bothering your mind " she said with a smile.

A spot boy approached her with an umbrella ,but she gently refused him saying she was ok. She is so simple & down to earth just like Dr.Deepika.

Here comes Dr.Deepika again. Yes, she is the reason for my disturbed mind & taking multiple takes for such simple shot.

Sai pallavi's hairstyle when she is standing facing her back to me in the scene reminded me of Deepu's hair.
Same curly hair for both depicting Maggie noodles & some times like pichuka gudu (bird's nest).

Everytime I see Sai pallavi's hair, I zoned out into her thoughts. The way her noodles hair got stuck to my shirt button while examining me on her first visit to my house. Those images played in my mind, resulting in me ruining the shot everytime.

It's very hard for me to act in this film, especially when lead actress resembles your love interest. Similar hair, same smile, same simplicity, same natural look except for the fact that Sai pallavi is fair and Deepu is dusky. Not that I am complaining but I like everything about my sweet Doctor except that she is not ready to move on from her past.

Thank God!! unlike other movies of mine, there were no kissing scenes in this film. Otherwise it will be a death of mine.

After that night of our first kiss, I regret inviting her for my birthday party & I was so angry on Anand for spiking her drink. She started hallucinating her ex - lover in me.

But I didn't regret hugging her, sharing her pain & kissing her. Although I know that the hugs & kisses are not for me, I was not offended or felt wrong which angered me more.

How can I kiss a girl without her consent. I know she was the one who kissed me. I can stop it from happening, but instead I kissed her back. The kiss felt so right for me.

I kissed many girls before, be it onscreen or offscreen, but none of those made me feel special. It ignited the sparks within me. Chills started within me. This is the first time I felt something like this. May be it's the sign that she is the one for me.

But one half of my mind saying that this is wrong. She loves someone else. What if he comes back to her realising his mistake. Those thoughts are broken by a phone call not mine but it's Deepu's phone which was ringing.

It's from her best friend Sravani. At first, I was little hesitant but decided to answer it which was the best thing I did ,which gave clarity for my thoughts. I still remember our conversation from that night.

"She slept!!! What do you mean? How can she sleep in someone's place, that too at Vijay devarakonda's house!! No way. Wake her up, I need to speak to her " Sravani spoke panicking about her friend's safety.

"No.. no.. she just slept now. Nothing to worry. She is safe. She got drunk little bit.. so you know what I mean " I said hesitantly covering up. I don't know how she will react, if she gets to know about spiking her drink. Unlike Deepu, her friend seems to be fierce.

" Deepu and drunk.. No way. She doesn't drink alcohol. There is something wrong. Did u forced her to drink? Did you took advantage of her drunken state? Oh God..!!plz keep her safe. Is she safe? No.. no.. nothing should happen to her. Em cheyyali (What should I do)? I will call police. Yes, police. Her safety is important."

"No..no.. Sravani listen to me. Plz calm down. Deepu is absolutely safe. I didn't have any bad intentions. Plz try to understand my situation. I didn't forced her to drink. Anand spiked her drink " I blurted out.

" Spiked..!! Oh my God!! How could you do it to her? Em chesav danni, cheppu vijay (what you did to her, Tell me) .She trusted you. She thought you were different. But no..you proved her wrong. I thought that the rumours about you being playboy were fake. But you turned out to be worse than that. What do you think of yourself? As you are a celebrity, you can do anything you like and get rid of it easily. No Vijay, I will not spare you if anything happened to her. "

"I loved her damn it. How can I think of harming her " I shouted in anger cutting her words in middle. How can she accuse me based on that stupid rumours. All are judging me based on my movies. I do bold roles in some movies but that doesn't mean I was the same in my personal life too. Who cares..they believe what they see externally. I am tired of explaining myself to all, so I stopped explaining them and let them think what they want. I don't care anymore.

I controlled my anger. I narrated her the entire story happened including the kiss part.

" You kissed her!! " She exclaimed.

" No..no..she kissed me." I corrected her. "Can I ask you something? " I asked her. She hmmed.

" Who is this Kanna?" I asked her.

" I was not the one to answer your question. You should ask Deepu. " She said.

" But she was not ready to share with me " I said sadly.

"Well in that case, you should wait. Try to gain her trust " she replied. I hmmed in response.

" Vijay, are you sure about this. You don't back out in the middle na. You won't break her heart right " she asked with concern.

" I am 100% sure about her. I won't leave her in the middle no matter what. " I replied with determination.

" Vijay...she was not ready to move on from her past. It will take time for her to accept you. Promise me that you won't give up on her " she asked.

"I promise "

"She loved kanna with all her life. They promised each other of being together for their entire life. They were the ideal couple in our friends group. They decided to hold their hands & walk into their bright future. But in mid way, Kanna left her hand making her alone. Neither of them were at fault. It's their fate that seperated them. It's been 2 & half years, still she is not over him. Don't expect her to forget Kanna. Bcz she can't. He was her first love.

Don't compete for his place. Try to make your own place in her heart. It will take time, you need to be patient. There are lot of battles you should fight for her. Even if she agrees your love, it's very difficult to convince her parents. Deepu won't do anything against their will. If you are ready to fight those battles then only hold her hand. Don't give her hopes on life to crush them in between & break her heart one more time. I will kill you if that happens.

Are you ready to hold her hand tightly till forever" Sravani asked.

"Yes, I am ready."
