24 - Ignoring

Vijay's POV:

"Yes, I am ready " I said to myself thinking about her.

"Ok then , let's go " Sai pallavi said breaking my trance. Not understanding what she meant, I gave her a questioning look.

" You said that you were ready, so let's go & complete the shot " she said getting up and walked towards the scene location.

'Did I say it loud' I thought.
'ofcourse, you did' my brain taunted.

" Come on vijay, hurry up " she shouted from the scene waving her hand.

I reached there. 'Ok vijay, concentrate. you can do it ' I said to myself. This time I did it & we moved to other scenes and now I was back in form.
It's 9:00 pm and finally director said pack up. I sighed in relief from exhaustion.

Finally I slumped on to my bed after having dinner. A message popped up making my phone beside me vibrate.

Akshay: I heard that you pissed off the director today.

Thank God. He was not there in the sets today as he was busy with some other work, otherwise he would have made fun of me.

Another message popped up from him

Akshay : Is that because of Deepika😉

I totally ignored his messages. I know if I reply him, he will definitely make fun of me.

I felt this sudden urge of talking to her. Without thinking twice I dialed her number. At first, she didn't answered then I redialed. Now she picked up and said "Hello" in a very heavy sleepy voice.

" Podukunnava ( slept?) " I asked.

" Ledu... Gadidalu kastunna ( No...just feeding donkeys) " she replied in the same sleepy voice.

"What!!! Are you serious " I asked.

"Are you serious vijay? You are calling me at midnight 1:00 am & asking me are you sleeping? Did you lost your mind vijay ? " She said irritated.

But it's only 9:30 in my phone. Shit.. how did it slipped from my mind that it's midnight in India. Yes, currently I was in my hotel room in Italy. And there is 3 & half hours time difference between India & Italy.

It's been 10 days I was in Italy. I didn't get hardly 10 mins talk with her. Early mornings before going to my shoot I used to call her but then she used to be in the hospital. Either she won't answer the call or cut it saying I was busy.

My entire days were very hectic. I used to shoot back to back and I hardly get time to call her. At nights, I would be free only after 8:30 pm. By then she will be either sleeping or will be on her night shift.

Not that I was complaining of my work. It's difficult to shoot in foreign countries when compared to that in India. We have lot of restrictions & we need to complete our entire work in given time. Getting extension of our permissions to shoot here was a big headache. So, entire crew will be on their toes according to the schedule. That's the reason why director was so pissed off earlier.

" Vijay. Are you there ? " She asked breaking my thoughts.

" Yeah... I am sorry for disturbing your sleep. I forgot that I was in Italy. I will call you later, you sleep. " I said.

"You already disturbed my sleep, so better say why you called me " she sounded rude . But I convinced myself that it might be due to irritation from disturbed sleep.

"Nothing, I just wanted to talk to you. It's just I miss spending time with you" I said.

" I guess you had better things to do in your life than spending time with me. Just focus on it & let me sleep. Bye , Good night. " She said those words & disconnected the call.
