5 - Treating the ROWDY

After 5 days...

Deepu's POV:

I woke up in the mrng ,got freshen up, ate my breakfast & got ready for hospital. Today as I had both day shift + nyt shift I am carrying extra bag with my lunch, fruits & some chocolates, & a blanket as I don't like sleeping on hospital sheets.

As I completed my rounds with Dr.Bharadwaj, I was assisting him in his op consultations when a nurse rushed in & said something to Dr.Bharadwaj. He got up & said to me:
" U carry on with other pts I will be back in a minute or two." He said & left in hurry.

I started seeing other pts & around 10 mins later the same nurse came & said to me " Dr.Bhardwaj wanted u to come to VIP ward immediately."

I completed seeing my present pt & exused other pts & said them to wait for a minute and went to VIP ward.

On entering there I see small commotion (some of the hospital staff) gathered outside a room. With a little nervousness I walk past of them & entered inside the room & wished Dr.Bharadwaj & others in the room. Dr.Bharadwaj informed me check on the pt lying on the bed. I turned towards the bed & there I was shocked😳😳

Now I understood the reason for huge crowd outside the room. On the pts bed it is the Arjun Reddy of Tollywood i.e; Vijay Devarakonda!!

I composed myself & realised that he is there for his treatment & looked very weak. From corner of my eyes I noted Dr.Bhardwaj observing my every step.

I gave a light smile to the pt (i.e; vijay devarakonda) & the person beside him . Vijay smiled weakly. I introduced myself. " This is Dr.Deepika, I am hear to treat you Mr.Vijay .May I know the problem u have ? " I said while checking his pulse.

The person beside him informed me that" vijay is suffering from fever since 2 days & now he felt reeling sensation & felt weak while shoot. So we brought him here."

I examined him He is conscious & coherent
pulse :63/min ;
Blood pressure: 90/60 mmHg
Blood sugars : 89 mg/dl
Temperature: 103degree F

So may be due to fever he didn't take his food leading to hypoglycemia & dehydration . (Normal pulse rate may vary from 60-100/min ; normal B.P 120/80 mmHg ; normal blood sugars may vary from 110-180mg/dl; normal body temperature may vary from 97-99 degree F )

So we immediately secured a iv line , & started 5% dextrose infusion followed by normal saline with multi vitamin infusion. To reduce fever we gave inj.parecetmol to his biceps. In the meanwhile whole crowd cleared & Dr.Bhardwaj left for his op consultations telling me to inform him if anything needed & asked me to sent blood samples to some investigations.

After 1 hr he is stable. His B.P & blood sugars became nearly normal & temperature reduced to 99degreeF. As now he is stable ,I started taking history from him. I asked vijay about duration of his symptoms.

" I am having fever from 2 days so I took tablets it get relieved &after some time fever reappears. I had bodypains with that . I had loss of taste & sore throat so started avoiding foods. I don't want to take break from shootings as my schedule is tightly packed . So I continued working. But today mrng while shooting I started having reeling sensation & my body felt very weak & numb. So my manager Akshay took me here." Vijay said responding to my every query in between.

" Don't worry Mr.Vijay ur temperature has come down . U r stable now. We want to do few tests to know the cause of fever. Nurse will come to take ur samples. Rest for a while & u may need to stay in hospital for a day or two just to keep u in observation. I will see u in a while ." I said & he smiled.

I went to check on other pts & informed vijay's condition to Dr.Bharadwaj. He appreciated me .
" Good Dr.Deepika. As u posted in VIP ward it's ur responsibility to take care of him. Moreover he is a celebrity so be careful. Don't hesitate to ask me if u have any doubts. " Dr.Bharadwaj said

I returned to VIP ward & entered his room. There I saw Vijay arguing with nurse on something.

" What is the problem sister?" I asked.

"Doctor he is not allowing me to take blood samples" Nurse replied.

I turned towards him. He smiled nervously & said. " Err...It will be painful. I feel dizzy on seeing blood."

I laughed out loudly & said " I can't believe the rowdy(vijay is called as Rowdy by his fans & he addresses his fans as Rowdies) is afraid of small needle & blood. U beat blood out of ur villains in ur movies. How come this fear."

He was little embarrassed & said " It's all acting it's not real. But now it's real blood. I can't do this " he whinned like a little child.

I stopped myself from laughing again & took syringe from nurse asked her to hold his arm tight. " It's okay cool down. Nothing is going to happen. Take a deep breath & close ur eyes. I will do it very smoothly." I said to vijay.

In response he closed his eyes whispering some mantras .I smiled inwardly & collected his blood sample & give to nurse & informed her to deliver it lab.

Once nurse left I saw Vijay .He is still with closed eyes & whispering something. " Mr. Vijay it's done u can open ur eyes now." I said & he opened his eyes & smiled wickedly.

To change the topic I asked " why don't u inform ur parents ?"

"I don't want my parents to worry unnecessarily . Its just normal fever right. Moreover they don't stay with me in hyd. They stay in our village. I don't want them to take tension." He said.

He continued" My mom will start her ramblings like u should take care of ur health, don't work too hard blah blah.."

I laughed & said " Ur mom is exact copy of my mom. Infact all mothers are same. They love their children unconditionally." He smiled in return.

I checked my phone it's 3:00pm " It's time for my lunch break & after lunch I should continue with my nyt shift. So I will leave now & u should eat ur lunch without fail & take rest. I will see u in an hour or two. " I bidded bye to vijay.

" Ok Doctor. Bye see u soon." Vijay replied. I left to SR room for my lunch😋😋😋
