A/N: HELLO I HAVE UPDATED YAY and at some point this chapter mention idiot boys drugging girls so they can get some (aka r-a-p-e) so if you dont want to read that just skim it over or something and yeah you may now read

“Happy Thanksgiving, Faith!” exclaimed Merida’s mom as I entered the kitchen, just now getting to my friend’s house after a long day of working.  Today I am spending thanksgiving with them since I can’t drive down to my own family; Eli on the other hand drove two hours to her own place to see her family, as did most of the student body.

I grin at the woman and sit at the breakfast bar, setting my belongings beside the wooden stool.  “It would be better if I was back home, but y’all are like a second family to me so it’s still amazing.”

Mrs. Odem let out a laugh and walked over to the stove, bending over some and checking whatever was in there for tonight.  Possibly the turkey.  “I love to hear that.  Merida will be home from school in about thirty minutes, her father will be back in hour, and then everyone else will be home in an hour and a half.”

“What about the younger ones?” I asked.

She stood up straight again and looked at me.  “Tommy and Lily?  Oh, Merida’s picking them up from the zoo- they're with some friends."

Tommy and Lily were Merida’s younger siblings, twins.  They were twelve years old but hyper as ever and it’s almost impossible to keep them calm with company around, that was a year ago, though; maybe their energy has gone down a notch or two.  I nodded in reply to Mrs. Odem and pulled out my phone, seeing I had a few text messages from an unknown number.  I frown, unlocking my phone and reading them.

***-***-**** (9:50 am): hey

***-***-**** (9:57 am): this is luke btw

***-***-**** (10:07 am): I got your number from that weird guy, bob I think

***-***-**** (10:08 am): anyway I was wanting to know if we can work on the project today? We don’t have to I just thought that since neither of us have anywhere to go

I quickly changed the unknown number’s name to ‘giant bastard’ before texting Luke back.  Honestly I didn’t want to talk to him and didn’t really care that he has my number either; I just wish he could have asked me for it instead of getting it from Billy.

                Me (5:24 pm): Wtf

Me (5:24 pm): And no I’m spending thanksgiving with Merida’s family, sorry

Giant bastard (5:25 pm): oh okay

Giant Bastard (5:25 pm): we just haven’t talked in a while or done anything for the project so I was just thinking that we should work on it

Me (5:26 pm): there’s a reason for why I haven’t spoken to you lately

Giant Bastard (5:28 pm): why’s that

                Me (5:29 pm): idk

Giant bastard (5:29 pm): what do you mean ‘idk’, you should know

Me (5:29 pm): maybe I don’t wanna tell you

Giant bastard (5:30 pm): tell me

                Me (5:30 pm): no

Giant bastard (5:31 pm): I hate you

                Me (5:32 pm): same

Giant bastard (5:33pm): what
