Merida smiled at me from her bed as I sat up on mine and looked around the dorm room. Presents were littered on the floor and separated in sections for Merida's family and friends and for my family and friends; the friend's part got a little mixed together. I fell backwards onto my bed again with groan remembering I had only five more days to get Luke a present. Five. And today I'm spending the day with him because it's supposed to be another 'date' thing, and then tomorrow I'm helping Eli wrap presents with Billy. That basically leaves me with three days- including Christmas day.
"I'm doomed," I grumbled under my breath.
"Hm? Oh, Luke's present," Merida said. "Just look out for things as you two spend the day together."
I grunted and rolled over to my side, opened my eyes, and looked at my red head friend. She was sitting there drawing in her journal that was nearly full, and had a Mountain Dew can beside her. "What'cha drawin'?" I asked.
"Something." Merida furrowed her eyebrows together even more in concentration as I scoffed at her answer.
"Obviously. What is it? A penis? A fictional character from one of your books?" I asked. "Oh, is pizza?"
"No, no, and no, Faith."
"Then what?" I leaned against my elbow and raised my eyebrows as she looked over at me.
Merida sighed and closed the journal, setting the pencil on top of it after setting it at her feet. "You have a date to get ready for," she said simply.
I frowned before rolling back onto my back. "I have nothing to wear."
"Then I'll help you. Isn't that what best friends do?"
I grunted again, shrugging and eyeing Merida as she stood up to go to our shared closet. I eventually looked away as she started pulling random items of clothing away and sitting up, stretching my arms and legs. I slowly got up and walked over to the mini fridge grabbing a water from on top of it.
"Pick something casual, please," I say after taking a sip.
"Obviously. How long are you two staying out?" Merida asked and peered around the opened closet door to me.
I shrugged. "I dunno. We're getting breakfast and then we're going to see a movie, and then drive around for a bit before coming back."
Merida raised an eyebrows. "Drive around for a bit?" she asked with a small laugh.
"Shut up, it's his words not mine," I said. She just rolled her eyes and went back to finding some clothes for me. "What time is it?"
"Nine ten," she replied.
"That gives me an hour," I said and walked to the bathroom. "Should I straighten or leave my hair natural? And can you please pick something out already, I need to make sure my makeup looks fine with my clothes."
"Girl, I have been looking for seven minutes tops. Give me some time!" Merida yelled at me. "And leave it natural, it's not anything fancy, Faith. Gosh, you haven't been this wacked up over a boy since the begging of your crush on Just-. Oh my God."
I groaned and pulled a few things out of my makeup bag. "What?" I asked.
"Oh, my God."
"What?" I asked again, slightly annoyed at Merida.
Suddenly she came running into the bathroom with wide eyes and spun me around to face her, keeping her hands on my shoulders as she smiled at me. "Holy shit, you haven't gotten this wacked up since Justin!"
