"Alright, are you sure you want to go to the zoo with my family today and the spend Christmas with them tomorrow?" I paused before continuing to talk as I found something to wear. "Because you can always say no. I mean, they won't mind. Spending a whole day with them sounds a bit over whelming, don't you think? Serious-."

"Even if I go or not I still bet on you getting teased on by your siblings."

"They merely see you as a friend."

"Faith, you haven't brought a guy to them in years," Merida announced from her bed. I stopped trying to pick out which shirt I wanted and looked over at her, raising my eyebrows. She looked at me and smiled, "I mean, at least since high school which is two years."

I groaned, knowing she was right. Even if I brought Ryan over who is planning on taking out some random girl that I don't know over, they would all be shocked; because since when was Faith-Anne Harrison best friends with guys and not making out with them? Since forever, actually, but I'm not surprised if they think that because almost every guy in high school that I got close with tries to make a move on me at least once. Apparently they didn't want to be 'just friends'.

I turned around finally and threw all of my clothes on the bed, which was where Luke was sitting. I sent him a small smile as he scowled at me when my shirt fell in his lap, but he swiftly took it off and layed it with the sweatshirt and jeans that I picked out; and right then I realized he was the only one really dressed with his usual band tee and jeans with his shoes discarded somewhere, and his hair a little damp from his shower earlier. Merida and I were in sweatpants and a t-shirt.

"Do they know you two have been on a couple of dates?"

I shrugged and Merida's question as I went to the bathroom, getting a few make up products ready to use in a little bit. "Brenda might've told 'em but I doubt it. Unless it slipped."

"What would they do if they knew?" Luke asked.

"Usual sibling-to-date questionnaire," Merida replied, and I quickly agreed.

"What about your parents?"

Everything went quiet then. I stopped arranging the makeup products and I'm sure Merida froze mid-whatever she was doing in there, and Luke definitely noticed it. The honest truth is that I forgot about my mom and my dad not being sick and not being in my life at all, so I forgot to mention it to Luke; I also don't ever want to tell him that my mom is in the hospital for cancer and that my dad left us four or five years ago. Though deep down I knew some form of a question about the two would come from him.

"I'm gonna go check up on Eli," Merida announced as I walked out of my bathroom and to my bed.

She quickly put on some slipped before walking out, shutting the door behind her, and all the while I kept my gaze from Luke while getting my clothes from the bed. I walked back to the bathroom as fast as I could and shut the door, locking it as well and stared in the mirror. If anything I was beyond nervous of telling him about them. I could go the simple way and just texting the details to him but writing them down or even saying them makes me want to scream because every time it makes me realize how true it is and how some day my mom will die and how I'm never seeing my dad again.

"Faith?" Luke knocked on the door, making me jump in surprise and drop my clothes.

I quickly started undressing to get into the clothes I picked out. I didn't reply for a few second, "Yeah?"

"What aren't you telling me?" he asked.

"I don't know."

"Faith-."
