Chapter 7
It is Wednesday today there were no classes because of the faculty meeting so Johanna and her friends decided to go to the lake nearby Richard’s house. They went first to Richard’s house to leave their stuffs from school. They were greeted by his mom and other relatives.
“Mom, were going to hang out near the lake, is it okay?” Richard asked his mom for permission.
“Okay, all of you be careful and enjoy.” His mom replied.
Eric took off his shirt because it was too hot, he got tired and perspired. He asked Johanna to wipe his back. Because they are friends it is no big deal so Jenny took his shirt from him and did what she was told to do but then they saw Paul looking at them and that’s the time they noticed that their were others who are near the lake. Paul was with the IN girls and other of their classmates they were a few meters away from where Johanna’s friends are right now. Eric teased her saying “it seems like his jealous.” Then he winked at Jenny.
“You’re crazy!” Johanna said, throwing back Eric’s shirt, laughing at him, Eric started chasing around Jenny.
They ignored Paul’s group and started messing around playing and chatting with each other.
“Johanna look, it seem like their getting along too well. ” Micah whispered at Johanna
“What are you talking about?” Johanna asked her.
Micah looked again to where Paul and Misty were talking, away from where their other friends are. They seem to be talking about something important. Then they both saw Paul held Misty’s hands.
Johanna can’t bear seeing them both, so she looked the other way and just silently stared at the lake.
“Don’t be sad girl, It’s his lost not yours” Micah told her
“I can’t help it; I had loved him since we were young. But don’t worry I’ll be alright as long as his happy.” Johanna said to her.
Micah hugged Johanna to comfort her.
“Guys let’s play a game” Richard said aloud to get his friends attention.
They formed a circle. They don’t mind that their other classmates were nearby.
(Arrangement clockwise: Richard- Micah-Johanna- Sunshine- Eric – Arthur- James – Robert)
“What do you have in mind?” Sunshine asked Richard after they have settled in their sitting arrangement.
“Truth or truth!; Since we can’t do the usual truth or dare because there are others nearby and specially they are our classmates so that would really be awkward right?” Richard said
“Yup we can’t mess around with them around because they would just make fun of us” Arthur said in agreement to what Richard just said.
Everyone agreed so they started playing Richard spin the bottle then it pointed to Eric.
“Do you have someone special right now?” Richard asked Eric
“Do you mean a girlfriend or just someone that I like?” Eric said in reply to the question
“Whichever you have?” Richard said
“I like someone but I won’t tell who she is” Eric said
“eiiiii, someone has a crush” they all said.
It’s Eric’s turn to spin the bottle and the next to be asked was Arthur
“Do you find Micah beautiful?” Eric asked
“Yes” Arthur said while looking at Micah
“CHEESSY” They all said
Micah blushed but they still look at each other.
“Ok enough! My turn to spin” Arthur said; he let the bottle spin and it stopped in Johanna
“If Greg would ask you out on a date would you go?” Arthur asked
His question puzzled Johanna. Greg is like an older brother for her but she knows her friends like Greg for her. They always pair them together whenever they find an opportunity.
“YES but don’t play your tricks on us okay? This is just our game don’t tell him about this.” she said looking at them.
“Woah! I think our match making scheme is working.” Richard said
“Crazy!” Johanna said; throwing her bag to Richard to shut him up.
They all laughed; Richard stood up carrying her bag and run away from her.
They stopped playing and went back to Richards place to get their stuffs and to say Goodbye to his relatives.
She is so lucky to have true friends beside her in her sorrows. They know her too well. They want her to be happy and they also want her to forget about Paul.
