Chapter 6

It has been months since school started she noticed that she isn’t thinking much about Paul although they are classmates. Her determination to ignore Paul is really working. She focused all her attention in her studies. She even participates in the class discussion not like before when she’s fine with just sitting in class listening to the discussion and waiting for the class to end.

“Miss Johanna, go answer no. five in the blackboard”

“Yes ma’am” she walked in front to answer. They are in there math subject Trigonometry. She is doing well in this class for a few days now. She quite liked the topic so she answered it correctly.

When she was done and started to walk to where she had been sitting a while ago. She noticed that Paul did not attend there class again. He keeps cutting classes and hung outs in internet cafes playing online computer games like Dota or the like.

“Nice one girl, really into studies now, Are we?” Micah teased her.

“Shut up girl! Just listen to the discussion okay?” Johanna whispered in response

Micah giggled and does what she had been told to do.

After the class they went to the open field to chat and unwind

The IN Girls and their suitors are also nearby. They chatted loudly and are really making a scene playing and dancing.

“Hmp, Can’t they tone down their voices, their too loud. We’re also here to get some peace and quiet but we can’t do that while they’re here. ” Sunshine said really sounding pissed.

“Gotta go home early guys, bye” Johanna said. She’s not feeling well. Her head is aching. Since they took an early dismissal, she can go home.

“Okay girl, take care!” They all told her. She left them there and decided to walk home rather than ride in a bus. Maybe her head ache would ease a little.

On her way home, she saw Greg step out of his house holding a can of beer. He sat at the front of his car looking at nothing in particular. She walked close to where he was, He seemed preoccupied.

“Hello Greg” Johanna greeted him “nice suit, didn’t know you have one. It’s my first time to see you in that get up. ” he was wearing a blue suit, white polo and a black tie, black pants.(The whole businessman get-up thing.)

“Can I take a picture?” she asked getting her phone in her pocket.

Greg just stared at her then smiled.

“Oh so cute, you should wear that a lot. Really looks good on you. very manly” Johanna said teasing him

She took a quick picture of him.

“Hey erase that silly.” Greg said to her trying to get her phone.

“No way, Come let’s take another picture.” she backed away to take another picture of him but he walked close to her then took her phone. He put his arm around her shoulder then took a picture of them both.

“Hey that’s not fair. I don’t look nice” Johanna said reaching for her phone after that picture was taken

She is still in her school uniform and because of her head ache she kept holding her head or hair to ease the pain when she was walking a while ago so she does not know how she looked like now. But she knows the picture would look ugly.

Greg sent the picture to his phone via Bluetooth then gave back her phone to her.

Johanna took her phone. “hmp! Okay fine at least now you are smiling not like a while ago. You looked very preoccupied thinking about something. ”

“I started working in the office this day. It was really exhausting and boring” he loosened his tie and drank his beer in can.

“Oh! so that explained why you’re wearing that suit,  by the way Congratulations!” Johanna said while smiling. She is seating beside him in front of his car.

Greg is now going to work in his family’s business. He is being trained by his father. Since he is just an only child, he would be the one taking over the business someday.

“Yah thanks.” Greg said emptying the can of beer. “So how was your day? Why are you early and why did you walk all this way home? You should have ridden a bus.”

“Hey chill. Geez you act as if you’re my brother or worse like my dad” Johanna said making the peace sign than she laughed.

“I didn’t like to ride a bus so I walked and also because I wanted to ease my head ache. I was not feeling well but now I’m fine. And about school, There’s nothing much to tell just a normal school day. ”

“No update about Paul?” Greg asked her

“Well I rarely see him. He keeps on cutting classes, but if you’re talking about my feelings for him than that I really do not know what to tell you.” Johanna sadly said

”You know you shouldn’t worry about him. Focus on your studies. You’re still young to take your feelings too seriously.” Greg advised her

“Yah I know that.” She sight

“Is love really that hard to handle? Have you fallen in love?” Johanna asked again

“Yes and I still do, but the girl loves someone else. So I’m trying to forget her by keeping myself busy.” Greg said

“You are not talking about Melody right? She looks really in love with you when we went to watch a movie.” Johanna said.

“She isn’t my girlfriend. She’s just my friend and nothing else.” Greg said

“oops sorry” peace sign (-_-)V  Johanna said, remembering that she was the one who introduced  Melody as Greg’s girlfriend to her friends.

Greg laughed looking at her. He placed his hand to her hair and patted it.

Johanna pouted fixing her hair after. Greg laughed louder, he watched her fix her hair.

“Well goodbye, Nice talking to you and again Congratulations. You can do it!” Johanna said than turned her back from him to go home.

“Thanks” Greg just said still looking at her walking away from him.
