Chapter 31

Callies POV

I can't believe any of this is happening, Luke was fine less than a month ago, how am I supposed to tell Sofia,

"Hey mommy" Sofia says getting in the car, I forgot I was waiting on her

"Hey babes, how was school?" I ask her

"It was good, did Momma get Luke in school this morning?" She says and I sigh

"No hun, we have to talk about Luke." I tell her

"What's wrong with him?" She says worriedly

"Luke is sick, that's why he doesn't like to play anymore. We are going to the hospital now," I say

"What kind of sick? Like the flu?" She ask

"No baby, he's got a tumor in his brain" I say and look back at her through the mirror

"Will he be okay?" She ask

"Yea ,Amelia and Derek are going to help him" I say and she just nods and the rest of the car ride is quiet,

When we get to the hospital we walk up to Luke's room and she sits on the bed with him and Arizona gets up and comes over to me, this has been hurting her more and I think it's because she feels guilty she didn't see it.

"Come here" I tell her and she nods as I pull her into my lap, and she silently cries into my shoulder so she wouldn't alert the kids

"It's going to be okay" I whisper in her ear while running my fingers through her hair, and we all just sit like that for a while, Arizona in my lap and Luke and Sofia on the bed playing on our phones

"Mommy I hungry" Luke says and we look at the time and it's about when they would be eating dinner at home,

"Okay bub Momma and I will go get you some food okay," I tell him and he nods while we walk out,

We stop by to see the twins and Lexie and Mark come in to get Brook,

"Hey" they say standing next to us

"Hey guys" I smile

"Do you want us to take the twins with us?" Mark ask and Lexie nods in agreement

"No, I don't want to burden you" Arizona says

"You're not a burden I swear. We would love to take them with us, give Brook someone to play with" Lexie says and we agree

"Bye Bye" Liv says waving to us

"Bye Bye" we say kissing their heads and walking down to the cafeteria to get food for Luke and Sofia,

We got them a plate and headed back to the room where they were both on the bed together, which makes us smile, we give them their food and they ate Mer comes in to get Sofia, she texted and asked if we wanted her to take Sofia with her so we could spend the night with Luke

"I want to stay with Luke" she says

"I know babes but you can come back tomorrow, I'll call the school in the morning and have them excuse you, deal?" I say

"Promise?" She says

"Promise" I smile and she hugs Luke then Arizona then me

"Bye love you guys" she says going with Mer,

After a while of just sitting in there Luke says he was tired and it was way past his bed time so Arizona layed down with him and once he was asleep Amelia came into the room

"You guys have time to talk?" She ask and we nod,

"I'm going to be straight forward with you guys, the tumor is going to be difficult, it's not one where I can just go and get it and be out in an hour, but I consulted with Derek and Dr.Koracick and we have an approach that we are pretty positive about" she says and proceeds to tell us what approach they decided on.
