Wooseok was in his room by his window, smoking cigarette after cigarette the second he got back. He was chain smoking now. Probably has gone through 5, and was on his 6th. He didn't know why he was so uptight today. Everything bothered him. Everything made him coil up into this ball of 'something'.
He just didn't feel good today. And having Kino around soon could make this a lot worse. The pair still bickered like hell. They weren't overly fond of one another and easily found ways to argue. Wooseok didn't want to get angry and hurt anyone today. If he had to he will. But he just wanted to...well that's a good question what did he want?
It's not like he wanted to do the work. Fuck school work. He didn't want to see Kino either. Fuck Kino. It was more about that break up of his daily routine. His father had announced today that he would be out all day from the morning. Of course Wooseok knew what this meant but he didn't often get a warning like that.
Usually he'd just come home to an empty house or have to figure out for himself where is father had gone. So today it was almost nice that he knew the house was free. He could have spent this time alone. And yet he invited Kino over. Maybe he thought being alone would leave too much free time for his mind to stray.
And god how he hated when his mind strayed. It went to dark places. Real dark places, that he found it hard to crawl out of. This time was difficult for him. His father never made it easy for him sure, but this time of year... he turned into a fucking monster.
More so than he already was.
So Wooseok was looking for that distraction. And Kino could be it. Even just to have him in the room. Not talking.
As he inhales a drag, he hears the doorbell. He doesn't bother putting it out, and instead just places the tip in his lips and walks over.
Kino is standing behind the door dressed in black jeans and a grey jumper. Wooseok is just in all black so they both changed from their uniforms.
Wooseok doesn't even say a word when he opens the door, just opens in wide enough for Kino to get the hint to come inside.
He does.
"Where did you wanna..."
"My room. My computer is there so we can look shit up and all that" Wooseok says.
Kino waves his hand about to spread out the smoke and then follows to the room Wooseok is pointing at.
He takes in the surroundings very briefly. A single bed, a desk with quite an old computer. A shelf full of comics, some odd books like cook books, and then a dresser of drawers with one drawer broken
"You can just sit on the bed or something"
"Thanks" Kino mumbles.
Wooseok walks over to the window where his ashtray was. He puts out the cigarette at last and then proceeds to hide the ashtray behind the clutter on his desk.
"You parents don't know you smoke?" Kino can't help but ask
"I think he knows but he doesn't talk about it. He knows I won't stop" Wooseok shrugs, going to sit on the top end of his bed as Kino takes the bottom.
"I thought today we could just like...research our own stuff, and then present it to each other and see which bits to use, which bits to focus on?" Kino suggests, already digging out two books as well as an Ipad. It was definitely better than Wooseok's old computer.
"Whatever you like" Wooseok tells him. At first Wooseok just grabs a book, and 'skims' through it. In reality he wasn't focused on what he was reading at all.
