"Traitors, all of you!"

No.

"L, I freed you"

Stop.

"How could you do this to me??"

Please, stop.

"Why are you fighting me?"

I-

"We're partners!"

....

"You're really choosing him over me, L?"

Stop, please.

"Bold to assume that I won't have the last laugh!"

.....

"I'm, I'm sorry about 👎︎✋︎💣︎☜︎☠︎❄︎✋︎⚐︎"

Huh?

"👎︎✋︎💣︎☜︎☠︎❄︎✋︎⚐︎ said, 'bold to assume that I wont have the last laugh,' so hey. Maybe he isn't gone."

He's gone, and I'm happy.

"Then why are you so heartbroken?"

I-

"He's still out there. I know it!"

No, he's gone. He's gone!

Mr. L jerked up. "He's GONE!" He was outside on the ground. He never quite settled down somewhere since he tended to move around a whole bunch. He rolled his eyes. "Ugh, just another stupid memory. It's been a year, why am I not over this?? I didn't even care about that stupid jester." Mr. L stood up. It was still dark out. "I'm the one who got rid of him. This is what I wanted!" He sighed. "He's gone. I shouldn't have let Luigi give me hope."

Mr. L had spent the first six months of his freedom exploring everything the Mushroom kingdom had to offer. Luigi was a great help. He made sure Mr. L didn't get into trouble with any of the townsfolk, returned anything Mr. L stole, and stood up for Mr. L when anyone wanted trouble. It was weird having someone act so kind towards him. Mr. L really enjoyed Luigi's company, but after a while, that empty feeling came back. The feeling he first had when he realized that he had destroyed his old partner in crime, his old buddy. He then spent the next few months searching and scanning the kingdom for any signs of Dimentio. He always came back with nothing. He even tried giving up on his quest a few times, but Luigi always assured Mr. L that Dimentio was still out there.

Mr. L sighed. "This is what I get for helping the good guys. I get to kill my oldest friend, and live with the guilt for the rest of my life." He just then realized how he was acting. "Ugh, pull yourself together Green Thunder. You are just sitting here, acting like a big crybaby. You are literally acting like Luigi. Ugh, the guy's contagious." Mr. L kicked a rock. He sat down with a thud. "Ugh, I've been feeling down. I need something to lift my spirits." He turned his head. "Maybe I can pay Luigi a visit. He always seems to cheer me up, fill me with hope, even though it's useless."

Mr. L started towards the hill which overlooks the Mushroom Kingdom. Luigi spent a lot of time up there. He apparently liked the views and the calm feeling it offered. To be fair, it was a rather peaceful place. When Mr. L arrived, no one was there. He sat down, and watched the sun rise over the horizon. It really was beautiful. He wondered if Dimentio would have liked it. Dimentio never really enjoyed peaceful things, but the sun was rather interesting, since it was a big, fire ball of doom, so who knows. Mr. L sighed. "Mr. L?" Luigi's voice came from behind him. He turned around to see his friend. "Hey Mr.Waybetterthanhisbro" Luigi Laughed, then ran in for a hug."Whoa, whoa, whoa. I don't do hugs, remember." Luigi smiled and backed away. "Right, right. Well, it's been forever since I've seen you! Did you find him??" Mr. L looked away. "He's not out there." "Don't say that-" "Luigi, I've searched everywhere, he's gone."

Luigi could tell Mr. L was on the verge of breaking down. He didn't even know if he believed Dimentio was still out there, but he had to be. Luigi couldn't let Mr. L give up. "Are you sure you've searched everywhere?" Mr. L suddenly glared at Luigi. "I've tried so hard to find him. I've searched every inch of this world." Luigi placed his hand on Mr. L's shoulder. "I promise you, he is out there. I just, I just know it." Mr. L turned away. "No, you don't. You're just trying to give me hope." Why was he acting so harsh towards Luigi? Luigi was the one person who never gave up on him. Mr. L's eyes softened. "Luigi, I'm sorry. I just can't keep thinking he's out there when he's not." Suddenly Luigi's eyes lit up. "What about Jevil??"

Mr. L looked confused. "Jevil? Luigi, he has nothing to do with anything I'm talking about. I'm talking about DI-MEN-TI-O" Luigi rolled his eyes and smiled. "I remember, Dimentio knew how to get to Jevil, and they already knew each other when I was brought to them. Maybe Jevil knows something!" Mr. L froze. Oh no, there was that feeling again. Hope. Mr. L sighed. "Even if he did, the guy probably won't talk to me. Not after I took him back to his lonely cell. And even if he would talk to me, he's insane. He doesn't even know how to form correct sentences!" Luigi smiled, and crossed his arms. "So you think he does know." Mr. L turned away. "I never said that." Luigi was smiling even more. "You didn't say that he didn't." "I also didn't say he did." Mr. L sighed. "Every single time you get my hopes up like this, I end up getting disappointed." Luigi looked over at the sunrise and stood next to Mr. L. "Yeah, but if he's really out there, wouldn't you want him to know that you're looking for him. If you give up, he will never know how much time you spent trying to find him." Mr. L smiled and looked down. "Alright, I guess I can talk to Jevil, see if he knows anything. But when I come back with nothing, don't be disappointed." "IF," Luigi corrected. "Not when, but if."
