Dimentio gently took his mask off, leaned down, and gently pressed his lips to Mr. L's.

Suddenly he felt breathing. Dimentio looked shocked. "L?? L!!! Is that you??" Mr. L began to cough, his eyes slowly opening. "Ugh, it hurts. Everything hurts." Mr. L said. Dimentio laughed, tears in his eyes. "L!!" He suddenly hugged Mr. L. "Ow ow ow," Mr. L said. There were burns all over his body. "Dim? Dim is that you?" Mr. L coughed. Dimentio sat up and looked into Mr. L's blue eyes. "Yes, L. It's me. It's me." Suddenly Mr. L sat up, shock in his eyes. "Dim! Your mask! It-" Dimentio shushed him. "I know. I know. Don't worry, it's right here." Dimentio picked up the mask. He was about to put it back on, when Mr. L stopped him. "Wait, I like it this way." Mr. L said. Mr. L placed his hand on Dimentio's face, just under his yellow eye. "I've never seen your face before." Dimentio laughed. "It's not much, but it's mine." Mr. L smiled. "I like it."

The two stared at each other like this for a minute. Then Mr. L rolled his eyes and pushed Dimentio away. "Alright, that's enough staring you clown." Dimentio laughed. "Good to have you back."

Luigi called from behind a house, "Did it work?? I hear voices!" Dimentio suddenly shoved his mask back on. He floated up and composed himself. "Yes, it worked." Suddenly, Mr. L could see Luigi running out towards him, tears in his eyes. "Mr. L! Mr. L!! I knew you'd be okay!" Luigi quickly dropped down and hugged him, and started quietly sobbing. Suddenly, his eyes went wide, he backed away. "Ah, sorry. I forgot you don't really do hugs." Mr. L looked into Luigi's blue eyes and smiled. He opened his arms. "I'll allow it." Luigi smiled, more tears forming, and hugged Mr. L. "You really scared me." Luigi sobbed. Luigi hugged tighter, causing Mr. L's burns to sting. "Ah, maybe a little to tight. Ow." Mr. L said. Luigi loosened his hug, but didn't let go. "Ah, Luigi, you can let go now." Mr. L laughed. Luigi shook his head. "Just gimme a second."

Eventually Daisy arrived with Medics. They took Mr. L, Mario, and Peach away. They decided that Luigi's burns weren't as serious and didn't require immediate medical attention. Dimentio watched as Mr. L was being taken away from him. He looked down. Luigi looked over and smiled at him. "Don't worry, he'll be back out here before you know it." Dimentio smirked a little. "You guys were really looking for me?" Luigi smiled over. "Yeah. He had been searching far and wide for months. He only agreed to come with me on this last adventure because he saw your mask." Dimentio smiled. Luigi looked away. The sun was setting. "There's something both peaceful and chaotic about the sun setting. On one hand, it's beautiful. When you watch it, you can't help but forget about everything else and just live in that moment....but on the other, the sun itself is so large and chaotic." Dimentio looked over at Luigi. Luigi shrugged, "Sorry, guess I'm rambling. So now that you're here, what are you going to do?" Dimentio's smile faded. "I don't know." Luigi giggled. "Neither did he. Don't worry, you'll figure it out." Dimentio looked down.

"First, before I do anything, I need to apologize to an old friend."

Jevil sat alone in his cell, like always. Humming to himself, "Up and down and up and down and..." Suddenly, Dimentio appeared up above him. Jevil slowly looked up. "Friend?" Dimentio smiled. "Hey Jevil. I came to say-" Suddenly Jevil ran to him. He grabbed Dimentio's foot and pulled him down to his level, and brought him into a tight hug. "I'm so lonely. So lonely." Dimentio had a confused expression. "You're not mad? But I betrayed you." Jevil hugged tighter. "I know, I am furious, but I'm so lonely. Too lonely." Dimentio smiled and hugged his friend back. "Don't worry, friend. I won't leave you for that long again. I'll be sure to visit more often." Jevil smiled. "So I see your L found you." Dimentio pulled away. "You knew he was looking for me?" Jevil smiled. "The Dark Green one came asking for you not long ago." Dimentio smiled. He really had searched everywhere. Dimentio looked back at Jevil. "You know I can't break you out of here. These walls make escape by Magic fairly difficult. I can barely teleport myself in and out." Jevil looked away. "I know, I know. But visit?" He asked. Dimentio smiled. "Yes. I'll visit. You won't be lonely anymore.

A while later, Dimentio went to pick Mr. L up from the Hospital. Since Mario and Peach's injuries weren't nearly as serious, they went home early. Mario felt incredibly guilty for what happened, and he didn't quite know how to handle that, but Luigi had told him that he had already forgiven him, since he knew what it was like to be controlled by a sprout. Luigi was able to treat his own burns at home, since they weren't as serious as Mr. L's burns.

When Dimentio got to Mr. L, he grabbed his arm and teleported them both away. "Whoa, what are you so excited about?" Mr. L asked. Dimentio had placed his hands over Mr. L's eyes. "You'll see." He led them a few feet forward, before taking his hands off. Mr. L gasped. There was a small house.

"Now, I know it isn't really much, but I was thinking, we could travel the world! And this could be our home base!" Dimentio said. Mr. L walked up to the little house. The doormat said the words, "Home" Mr. L tried to hold back tears. Dimentio continued, "There's so much we haven't done, and we only get so much time on this earth. We never know when it's going to end." Mr. L
walked inside to see that Dimentio had brought in things from their old rooms in Castle Bleck. He had almost perfectly replicated the rooms too. Dimentio floated in. "I know, it's not all that much yet, I didn't have enough time to perfect it, but-" Mr. L suddenly turned to him and hugged him tight. He walked outside to see that it was located on his favorite hill, the hill that overlooked the Mushroom Kingdom. "It's perfect. I can't believe you did this you clown!" He said. Dimentio blushed. "I hoped you would like it." The two sat out, and watched the sunset. Suddenly, Mr. L turned to Dimentio. "Can I?" He asked. Dimentio toughed his hand to his mask. Mr. L lifted his hand to it as well. Together, they slowly took the mask off. "That's better." Mr. L said. Dimentio smiled.

"Do you know what happened to the Dark and Light Prognosticus?" Mr. L asked. Dimentio chucked. "They aren't far. I had to make sure they stay out of the wrong hands. I knew we couldn't trust me with them, so I sent the Light Prognosticus back to Merlon and gave the Dark Prognosticus to Luigi for him to protect." Mr. L smiled. "Good, good." Dimentio suddenly asked, "So, are we good guys now?" Mr. L shook his head. "No, we're just not bad guys." He smiled.

Before Mr. L got out of the Hospital, Luigi helped Dimentio build the house. It took him forever to convince Mario to give them the land, but he did. Now, whenever he looked up that hill, he was reminded that he helped two villains get their happy ending. "Do you think we can trust them?" Mario asked. Mario was tired. He along with a dozen toads had to spend the last day trying to get Bowser into a cell in the Dungeon. Bowser would have to stay there until the effect of the Dark Prognosticus wore off. Luigi smiled. "I do. I really do."

Luigi walked up that hill to watch the sunrise. Dimentio and Mr. L decided to wake up early to watch the sun rise as well. Upon hearing his footsteps, Dimentio quickly shoved his mask back on. Luigi walked in to see Mr. L and Dimentio watching the sunrise. He smiled. "So where to?" Luigi asked. Mr. L looked over at Luigi, then Dimentio, then the sun. "Who knows. But wherever we go, we'll get through it. Together." Mr. L grabbed both Dimentio and Luigi's hand. The three watched as the sun rose. The sun, so peaceful, yet so chaotic.
