Thar night, Ben wakes up from a noise which is probably coming from the living room. He doesn't know what time it is, so it could just be Joe's Dad coming home from work.
The boy next to him is still fast asleep. Joe is lying on his stomach, his arm tightly clung around Ben's chest.
With a sleepy smile, Ben carefully reaches out to the bedside table to grab his phone. He sees that it's only 11:38 pm, so Joseph can't be the one stumbling around like that.
When a faint thump is heard from the living room, Ben decides to take a look. But as soon as he moves even the slightest, Joe groans softly in protest.
"Hmmm need more snuggles." The ginger mumbles before tightening his grip around Ben's chest.
Ben isn't quite sure whether Joe is still asleep or not, since the boy's eyes are still closed. "Baby, I heard something. Maybe we should take a look." The blond whispers softly as he gently shakes Joe.
"But this bed is so nice and warm." Joe mumbles before wrapping himself into the blankets.
But he opens his eyes immediately when another noise is heard. "Okay, maybe you're right." He says with a sigh.
Ben chuckles and gets up out of bed.
Joe gets up as well, and shivers as his bare feet touch the cold floor. "Hey, not so fast." He mutters. "You're my warmth now."
Ben smiles and opens his arms for Joe. Together they walk towards the living room.

There they see Mary, standing bent over against the table.
The girl doesn't even seem to notice the two boys coming in. "Just stop kicking." She whimpers before holding onto her baby bump.
Joe points at the table, where a glass of water is knocked over. "That explains the thud." He whispers.
Ben frowns, now noticing the glass as well.
"Mary? What are you doing here? Are you okay?" Joe asks. When his sister doesn't answer, he looks at Ben. Who shrugs, not knowing what to do.
"I- I was just getting a glass of water." Mary suddenly says. "But the babies started kicking very hard and now my stomach hurts like hell."
Joe can hear that she's trying to breathe calmly. "Have you tried painkillers yet?" He suggests.
But Mary immediately shakes her head. "I won't take any pills. If they would just stop kicking I can go back to sleep." She lets out a noise of pain as her whole body tenses.
Ben gently nudges Joe in the side. "I don't think the babies are just kicking." He whispers in Joe's ear. "I think she's having contractions."
Joe's eyes widen immediately. "Are you sure?" He whispers back.
"Mary, are you sure you're not just having contractions?" Ben asks.
The girl looks up, and both boys can see the quite anxious look in her eyes. "How am I supposed to know? This is kinda my first pregnancy remember?" She says before shutting her eyes tightly because of the pain.
"Have your waters broken yet?" Joe asks.
Mary shrugs. "I'm not sure."
When Ben sees the younger girl panic a little, he walks over to her. "Let's sit down on the couch, okay? Just take deep breaths." He says as he guides her to the couch.
Mary gives him a short nod before sinking down onto the couch.
"Joe, can you wake up John?" Ben asks his boyfriend. "He's the only one with a drivers licence, and we may need to go to the hospital before your father will be home."
The ginger immediately nods before walking to his brother's room.

"W-what now?" Mary asks quite scared.
Ben smiles at her reassuringly. "I'll time your contractions, and in the meantime we'll call your father and your boyfriend." He says.
Mary nods, already a bit more reassured.
"John is sort of awake, he's getting dressed now." Joe says upon entering the living room.
Mary mumbles a 'thanks' to her brother.
"You goofheads do know it's the middle of the night, right?" John grumbles as he joins his family. "What the hell are you all doing up? I have a baseball game tomorrow."
Mary gives him a quilty look. "I'm sorta in labor, I think."
Suddenly, John seems wide awake. "Oh crap." He mumbles. "Are you okay?"
She shrugs. "I'm okay now, but that pain is intense." She says with a groan.
"Your boyfriend is already on the way, I'll call Dad so he can make his way here as well." Joe grabs his phone, and walks into the kitchen to make the call.

"Oh no, it's coming back." Mary groans as she puts her hands around her baby bump.
"Just take deep breaths, okay? Do you have a bag ready to grab? Because your contractions are less than six minutes apart. I think it's time to get you to the hospital." Ben says, trying not to make the girl panic to much.
She nods as a way of saying that she does have a bag, but can't manage to say anything.
"She has a hospital bag in her room. I'll grab it." An unknown voice suddenly says.
Mary looks up and smiles widely. "Matt...-" She exclaims weakly, relieved to see her boyfriend.
A tall black-haired boy with blue eyes walks over to the couch and gives her a kiss on her head. "Hi love. I'll grab your bag and in the hospital they'll give you something for the pain, okay?" Matt says to Mary.
That's the point Joe walks back into the room. "Dad will try to get away from work as soon as possible." He says.
"I will drive us to the hospital." John says while grabbing his car keys. "Let's go."

Matt and John carefully guide Mary to the car, leaving Ben and Joe behind. The two boys both grab some last stuff before getting ready to leave too.
"Thanks for helping Mary." Joe says before giving Ben a quick kiss.
The blond smiles. "No problem sweetheart." He says.
"How did you even know what to do?" Joe asks as he pulls the front door shut behind them.
Ben smiles modestly. "Well, I had a friend in high school and she applied for a nursing school. But she had to take a test if she wanted to get in. I helped her study the chapter about babies." He says with a chuckle.
Joe giggles softly. He can feel the excitement running through his body. His sister is now really in labor.
Both quickly get into the car.
There they see Mary curled up against Matt in the backseat, her eyes closed as she is still taking deep breaths.
Joe takes place in the backseat as well while Ben sits down in the passenger seat.
John doesn't hesitate and presses the accelerator firmly.
"How are you feeling?" Joe asks, mostly to distract Mary from the pain.
"Stupid question." The girl immediately grunts. "There are two things about to shoot out of my body."
John looks at the girl through the rearview mirror."Jeez, giving birth makes you mean." He says before focussing on the road again.
"Shut it John." His sister mumbles.

About seven minutes and probably three speeding tickets later, John drives the car into the parking lot of the hospital.
"I'll check you in and get you a wheelchair." Joe says as he jumps out of the car.
Mary takes a deep breath in. "I hope they'll like me." She whispers so soft that only Matt is able to hear it.
He smiles and takes her hand. "I'm sure they will. How can they not." He says before giving her a short kiss.
The girl nods, and squeezes his hand when another contraction comes up. She lets out a small whimper.
"There's Joe with the wheelchair." Ben says as soon as he sees his boyfriend approaching.
They quickly help Mary into the wheelchair once the contraction has faded.

In the hospital they are immediately assigned a room where the delivery of the twins will take place.
"Hi there." A nurse walks into the room and smiles friendly at Mary. "I'm gonna check how much you're dilated already, and after that we'll check how you and the babies are doing. Once you're close to the 10 centimeters I will explain everything that will happen when you're allowed to push." She says to Mary when she sees how nervous the sixteen-year-old girl is.
Meanwhile, Ben and Joe are sitting in the hall. "I hope she's alright." Joe mumbles.
"She's surrounded by doctors, her boyfriend and her family, I'm sure she's doing just fine." Ben assures him. He looks at John, who is standing at the end of the hallway to call Joseph in private.
When the door of the hospital room opens and Matt comes out, both Ben and Joe look up.
"She's already five centimeters dilated. They think it won't be long until the babies are here." He says with a nervous smile. He beckons the two boys to follow him.
Mary cracks one eye open when she hears someone entering her room. "I was hoping you'd be a doctor with the drugs." She mumbles.
"It's good to see you too." Joe giggles.
Mary lets out a loud groan when another contraction is making her body tense. "Well you're bloody well getting out of here once I need to spread my legs again." She grumbles.
"Deal"
They turn around, seeing John standing there.
Joe raises his eyebrow when his brother pulls him along into the corner of the room.
"So, I have some bad news, I'm afraid." John frowns.
