RAELYNN POV
The pen in my hand was the victim to my anger. I threw the broken pen towards the bin to join its friends. Breaking pens wasn't helping me, I needed something more. Usually I'd fuck some random girl, or Grace happily let me take it out on her. But that wouldn't happen now, since the redhead is the reason for my anger.
For the pass three days I've called, texted and even showed up at her place. She never answered, she never replied and she definitely never fucking opened her door. I felt angry and stupid. At first I was worried that something had happened to her but then I found out she had talked to Lena. She was supposed to go at Buzz Desire tomorrow to meet Kelly.
This is why I never did this feelings shit. I broke the stupid rule about feelings and now I'm getting ghosted. Stupid stupid Raelynn. Fucking idiot. I thought we were fine! I called her when I was busy with work and always asked how her damn day was. I became soft for her, because of her.
I stood up in anger and stormed out of the club. I was done with this shit.
"Rae, where are you going?" Danny called after me.
"Fuck off!" I threw over my shoulder and left.
Sweat dripped from my body as I went harder. I pushed my body to keep going even though I was about to drop down. Why would she do that to me? We weren't suppose to hurt each, that's what she said. Then why was I hurting right now?
"Fuck!" I screamed out in the empty room.
I ripped off my boxing gloves and went into the locker room. A quick shower later, I was angrily making my way to my penthouse.
As I walked out of the elevator, I spotted Lena on the couch. She was reading something on her phone.
"Hey," she smiled looking up.
"Can I see your phone?" I reached my hand out.
"Um, why?" She asked with a frown.
I growled lowly. "Because if you don't, I'll kick your ass out."
She only frowned deeper, looking hurt.
"Okay, I'm not going to kick you out. Just give it."
"Is this about your girlfriend?" She asked tapping her phone in her palm.
"She's not my girlfriend." I said a bit too harshly.
She nodded and gave her phone to me. "If she asks, you stole that from me." She walked away.
I dialled Grace's number and held the phone to my ear. She answered on the second ring.
"Hello?"
My stupid heart fluttered after hearing her voice for the first time in three days.
"Well, you're alive." I replied dryly.
"R-Rae?" she stuttered
"Why have you been avoiding me?" I asked calmly, not wanting to portray just how much I was hurting.
I heard her sigh over the phone. "I've been busy."
"Too busy for even a text. Why didn't you answer your door when I came over?" I hated myself for doing this right now.
"I'm staying at Kelly's. Listen, Rae, I'm at work. Can we talk later?"
I gritted my teeth in annoyance. "No, talk to me now. You know what? I want to see you. If you're gonna end what we have, whatever it is. At least have the fucking balls to do it to my face." I shot angrily at her.
She fell silent but I could hear her breathing. I counted the seconds in my head, waiting for her to either hang up or end things.
"Lena has to come in tomorrow. Come with her, we'll talk then okay?" Her voice sounded different now.
I didn't like the sound of it. It was broken and vulnerable.
"What's wrong, tesoro?" I aksed softly, all my anger was gone.
"N-nothing. Just.....we'll talk tomorrow." She answered quietly.
"I can come now." I offered. Why did she sound so hurt?
"Rae, tomorrow. Bye." She hung up.
I held myself back from lashing out. I was angry again. I didn't want us to end, I wanted her. My eyes shut tightly, forcing everything down. I shouldn't have started this, I knew better. Now, I was butt hurt over some girl. My focus should've stayed on what I came to this city to do in the first place. For six years I kept my focus on track. Then, Grace Brenner comes in, and fucks up my mind.
"Hey, you good?" Lena's voice came.
I stood up from my bent position by the couch. "I'm fine. Let's go."
"Where are we going?" She asked, not moving.
"You have school and now work from tomorrow. You're gonna need shit for that right?" I told her coldly.
She shrugged. "I have a few clothes and my car. Though it's a junk pile, it still works."
I really didn't give a shit. I just needed a distraction. "Let's go." I said again and walked out.
She followed me into the elevator. I stood in one corner and she in the other.
"I take it your phone call didn't go well?"
I didn't answer. I walked out in silence and he followed behind as I made my way to my other car.
"1967 Ford Mustang, I love this car." Her voice raised in excitement.
"Yeah, it's mine but I barely use it." I tossed her the keys. "You can use it until I tell you otherwise."
"Are you serious?" Her voice lowered as if telling a secret, but her eyes lit up.
I scowled in distaste. "Don't be that happy. Let's go get you proper clothes." I sat in the passenger seat.
She skipped over to the driver's side. "This is so fucking cool." She squealed.
"Language, and stop being so...chirpy." I muttered. "It's giving me a headache."
She huffed and started the car, easing it out onto the street. "You curse more than anyone I know."
"Shut up and keep your eyes on the road." I ordered.
She didn't keep quiet for long. The girl didn't have a off button and spoke the entire way to the mall.
As soon as she parked, I got out.
"Where are we going first?" She asked, less excited.
I felt relieved, I couldn't take anymore of her yapping. "Here," I gave her one of my cards. "Buy whatever you need and meet me back here in a couple of hours."
She looked down to the card in her hands, not saying anything. Silently she gave it back. "I don't need anything."
I squinted my eyes at her. What seventeen year old doesn't take an opportunity like this. "Fine, buy what you want then." I pushed her hand away.
"Why are you being so nice to me?" She asked softly. "You don't even know me. Most people would've fired me and left me on the streets." She sniffed. Was she about to cry?
I clenched my jaw in anger. Not at her but at her father for abandoning his daughter. "All it takes is one person, kid. I'll come with you."
I walked passed her knowing she'll follow. She was hesitant to buy any and every thing she saw and wanted. If I didn't force her to, all she would've come back with was a shirt. Two hours later, we left. I got her enough clothes for school and some stuff suitable for work. I thought this would've distracted me from Grace, but it didn't work. The blued eyed woman still consumed my every thought.
"Thank you, Rae." The kid sounded genuinely grateful.
I simply nodded.
