(A/N)  Warning!! Mention of blood, gore, and death.

- 3RD PERSON -

April 21, 2014. 9:50 PM, St. Dawn Hospital.

Percy left as quickly as he could after Chiron briefed him on what happened. He was in such a rush, that he nearly forgot his disguise for when he goes to the mortal world. With his popularity in the mortal world, he was sure to be noticed right away.

So, he put on a beanie and a face mask to hide his most obvious features, but it didn't help too much since a lot of the hospital staff knew he was coming.

Currently, He is standing in a private waiting area the hospital staff had him wait in.

After waiting for half an hour, Percy was just ready to go into the workers-only area just to find out which operating room his mother was in.

He nervously tapped riptide against his thigh, before noticing a doctor and a policeman making their way toward him.

The policeman was the first to start talking, "From the crime scene, we gathered that there had been 5 of them who had attacked Mr. and Mrs. Blofis. This doctor will explain the casualties."

Licking her lips, the doctor nervously started to explain, "Sally Jackson-Blofis was stabbed in the back twice; both punctured the thoracic bone in her spine. I can only explain how far the damage may go and what we can do."

"Please walk me through it," Percy asked, his eyes were filled with so much worry that the doctor couldn't help but comply.

"There are certain levels that depend on how severe the damage is, and by how high the level is, the more functions will be affected. Mrs. Jackson-Blofis's injuries go as far as from T6 to T7, which will make her experience a condition called autonomic dysreflexia. Her body will through many involuntary functions; like heart rate, blood pressure, or temperature regulation. Without the proper management, it will be life-threatening for her.

We would like to recommend temporary life support, which will quicken her recovery, as well as help support the failing functions that will stabilize over time. Once her body regains the ability to function without life support, we will wake her up."

Percy immediately nodded when she said life support, growing less anxious for his mother's life now. The thought may have lessened his worry, but that didn't stop his heart from growing heavy with guilt.

He couldn't stop thinking of what he could have done if he were with them. Maybe if he were with them, they could be standing in front of him right now; healthy and free of any injuries that they had to face.

His thoughts disappeared when a nurse appeared beside the doctor; handing her a piece of paper that had his mother's name on it.

As she read it over, the doctor looked up at him with a surprised expression, "It appears that Mrs. Jackson-Blofis is expecting."

With a confused expression, Percy asked, "Expecting what?"

"A baby."

"...A baby? Y-You're saying that my mom is pregnant?"

Holding her chuckle, the doctor nodded 'yes'. Percy's expression immediately lightened; a breathy laugh of disbelief left him. That expression then dimmed, turning to look at the doctor again as he asked,

"Wait, what about my step-father? Er- I mean, Paul, is he alright?"

The officer and the doctor exchanged panicked looks, making Percy feel dread begin to build. As his voice trembled, he asked again, "What happened to Paul?"
