My POV:

We walk up to the dark door and I open it. Hearing her footsteps lightly scrape on the concrete.

I notice the rain pouring and start to worry about my practice bag. I'm still under the patio when the thunder strikes. I hear her gasp and she holds me arm tightly.

I hold onto her elbows are look in her eyes. "Hey your safe. It's just the weather", I say as I rub her soft skin

She laughs nervously, "I know....it just scares me at night. Makes me think of a scary movie"

I put my hand to her face and I now notice how close my lips are to hers.

"Are you going to be ok tonight?", I genuinely ask as I keep looking at her lips

I truly don't mean to, but they are so shiny in the porch light.

"Y-yeah", she hesitates as she stares at my lips too.

I was about to respond when the thunder boomed closer and white light filled her large yard. She jumped closer to me. I feel her heart racing through her touch. "No", she finally says.

"How about this....I go home and quickly take a shower then come back and stay with you?", i offer

She smiles in a nervous smile

"Please stay. You can shower here. Please", she begs as she tries to pull me back inside.

"Ok ok I will. Just let me put my practice bag in the Mustang and grab my overnight bag from the trunk", i say as I look into her blue eyes.

I had a overnight bag because it was an uncommon thing for me to spontaneously sleep over. It had my necessities.

"Ok. I'm coming with you", she says as she takes my hand.

I run into the rain holding the sweet girl's hand. I quickly bend down to put my practice bag in the Mustang and I drag her to the trunk. I pop it and grab the black Nike duffel.

I get my shit and run through the rain with her to under the patio and then through the big door.

I close the door and we are still holding hands.

Her dad was by the staircase doing something with the thermostat. He stares over at us and has a weird look on his face, "Hi again y/n"

She lets go of my hand

"Hi again Mr. Shumate"

"Dad can she spend the night? I asked her to because of the weather", Anna speaks up as if sleepovers because of the rain were daily

He nods and says, "that's fine. As long as y'all are quiet it's fine"

We both nod and she starts to walk upstairs. I follow.

We walk into her room and I set my bag on the floor.

"Here. You can shower in my bathroom. I'll go shower in Jacob's", she offers as she shows me to her bathroom.

It was pretty big. But so was their whole house

"Ight thank you lovey", i smile as I close the door behind me.

——t.s.——

The hot water felt so good on my sore and overworked skin. I put on my deeper smelling lotion and did my skin care before I walked out of her bathroom with my black hoodie and my grey sweats. They did indeed make me look good.

I walk out and see her sitting on her bed in the dark with her hair wet.

"Hurry!"

I quickly walk over to her. She's shaking under the 30 blankets and stuffed animals in there

"The weather got bad again and it's dark everywhere. And I'm nervous and your probably freaked out about how clingy and weird I am. And I'm spiraling..", she says fast

I get on the bed and get close to her. I hold her body tightly on mine. She calms down.

"Calm down lovey. I'm here. Nothing is going to hurt you. Come on let's watch Lion King", i offer as she snuggles into me more

She's wearing an oversized hoodie with no bra and probably no shorts. And no it's not weird that I know she's not wearing a bra.....I can literally feel her boobs because of the way we are cuddling.

I pull the blankets over us and she starts to play the movie.

She puts her face into my chest. "I'm not going anywhere", I whisper

She mumbles something into my chest. After a few minutes I feel her shaking stop and I look down to see the nervous girl asleep on my chest.

I grab my phone and text my mom to tell her that I'm sleeping at a friends house. She probably won't get it. She's working.

I look down at the pretty girl in my arms thinking of how close we are....... But we could not be more far apart
