Chapter 13 Time to restart, right?

Ellie and Tessa have been driving for hours, maybe even days. They stopped in the middle of Wyoming, not knowing the way they came from.
"I thought you knew where we were going!" Tessa shouts getting out of the car. Tessa starts to run away and cry's, but Ellie grabs her arm and holds her back.
"We can't give up now, or, life won't ever be normal again. Please just stay with me."
"All you have done is ruined my life! You made Lucas disappear, didn't you?"
"Tessa, I didn't-" Ellie froze. "Whatever you do, don't move."
"Why? What's wrong huh-" A huge glob of slobber pours over Tessa's head drenching her.
"That's why, run!"
They both bolted as fast as they could far away from the car, and far away from that beast, whatever it was.
"What was that?" Tessa said panting for more air.
"I-I dunno, but now we don't have a car, and we are stuck in the middle of nowhere, with nothing to eat or drink either!"
"Hey look," Tessa pointed to the South, something that looked like a deformed building, "I think it's a gas station, we can get food there."
They both started walking and as they got closer the building got farther and farther away.
"Why does it keep moving?" Tessa asks with exhaust.
Ellie breaks down crying.
"What's wrong Ellie?"
"It's an illusion can't you tell?! The Wyoming summer heat makes it hard to keep sane."
"That's not good."
"Well of course it isn't good, Tessa!! It's all because of this stupid ring that is now attached to me and I don't know what to do now!"
"Ummm, Ellie!! What's happening to me?!?!"
"It's the ring! I shouldn't have mentioned it or, you'd disappear. I can't get you back now, But I'll find a way, I promise, a way to get all of you back."
Tessa turned to mist in the sunlight and then vanished, leaving Ellie in the middle of nowhere. All alone.
