The Haunted Ring

Chapter 15, A very surprising present

It was Ellie's birthday, and she didn't know what to do because she was all alone. She was staying in a hotel in the little town. Ellie was walking to the front desk to pay for her next week of staying at the hotel and overheard a strange man and the front desk lady bickering,
"Are you here to check in sir, I don't have all day."
"I'm here for Ellie Bradford."
"Umm sir are you her legal guardian?"
"No, but-"
"Why do you need me?" Ellie asked popping into the room.
"You don't understand, they are after you!"
"Who?"
"I can't tell you here, they are dressed as regular people, but they aren't "regular" they are bad!"
"But-"
The man grabbed Ellie's arm and pulled her out of the hotel and into his black Porsche. He had a personal chauffeur. The black Porsche had black leather seats and black carpet on the floor. Ellie and the man sat in the back and this gave Ellie a chance to get a better look at the man. He wore an all black suit and a blood red tie. He wore a black top hat which was trimmed with blood red lace. He had hazelnut eyes with a look of worry in them, and Auburn hair. He had a scared expression on his face, and he had a deep, rough voice.
"Who is coming for me?"
"Ellie, do you know who I am?"
"No."
"I am Felipé Jordan. Your grandpa. I was able to track you down, because I own this hotel, but I need to keep you safe from the ring. And yes you might be wondering why I haven't disappeared yet. Well it's because YOU didn't tell me about it, I already knew."
"Ok? But my mom said that grandma was a single mom, and that she never was married."

"Well darling, you see, I was always on work trips and never even got to meet your mom, only when she was a baby. Your grandma was so upset that I was always gone and divorced me. I had been looking in the family tree app recently, and saw that you had been born into the family. I thought it was cool and all but your mom wouldn't know who I was if I came to visit you, and you wouldn't know either. Then one day, I was looking through my list of customers staying at my hotel, and came across your name and I immediately knew I had to get you saved fast. Oh and is it true that grandma disappeared?"

"Yes, because she had the ring and tried to make it "unhaunted" and things like that."

"Oh okay."

"Now, what are the things that are coming after me?"
" They are called, "The Pedestrians." They were the ones who made the haunted ring. Now, they want to have you and all of your friends and family dead. We need to act fast or, we are dead.
