Chapter 9: The Underworld

Ryuko looked around the area she was in. It was definitely not home. She remembered her fight, with Thanatos and she was protecting Saya and....that's right. Thanatos humiliated her. He didn't even break a sweat against her. Ryuko gritted her teeth in anger. She lost.....badly.

Senketsu: Ryuko.

Ryuko looked down to see Senketsu who was still attached to her hip. Thankfully.

Ryuko: Senketsu *looks up* Where are we?

Senketsu: I don't know....but I can sense a lot of death here. If I had to guess maybe we're in Hell.

Hell? No that couldn't be right.
Y/N destroyed Hell. She remembered Erza told her and Satsuki when they revealed Y/N, Akame, Boruta and Erza were demons. Wait Boruta....she recalled him being there when she was defeated. Did he?

Senketsu: Ryuko....Boruta didn't make it....I watched him die.

Ryuko eyes widened. Boruta...was dead? Now she was angry. Thanatos...he did this...when she would find him...oh he was going to die.

Ryuko quickly turned to face the sound of a pebble dropping she heard from behind her. All she saw was a bunch of rocks, however she could sense someone hiding behind those rocks. Her eyes narrowed.

Ryuko: Who's there? Come on out or I will make you come out.

Ryuko then saw a pair of two hands which were held up high, signaling a surrender. Ryuko kept her hand on Senketsu. She watched as this person came out. This person was hunched over with black skin and he no hair, his eyes were hollow, Ryuko could see his bones as if he hadn't eaten anything. Ryuko watched as this person crawled to her like a monkey way and it dropped to it's knees and began putting his head down as if she was a queen or something.

???: Oh...great one....I've waited for this day...the day when the great Satan would told me that you would come....

Ryuko arched an eyebrow. Did this....person know who she was? Or was she mistaken for someone else?

Ryuko: Who are you?

???: I....I have no name...I am.....a helpless soul who seeks revenge....Satan told me....he told me that...A Lucifer would come down to end this eternal pain I've been suffered upon.

Ryuko: You got it wrong. I am not your savior, I was saving someone else and I took her place and I woke up here. 

The Soul looked at Ryuko with a face that said betrayal. He then began to sob, clenching his fists and slamming into the rocks. Screaming, arching his back upwards

Soul: CURSE YOU THANATOS! SLAIN MY WIFE AND CHILD AND YOU SENTENCE ME TO THIS ETERNAL PAIN?!

Ryuko said nothing as she watched the soul scream before it broke down into tears. Ryuko didn't have time for this, she kneeled down.

Ryuko: Hey. Where exactly am I?

The soul didn't respond, Ryuko then grabbed his head and pulled his face up to her face.

Ryuko: I asked you a question! Where am I?

Soul: Y-You're....You're in Soul Valley. The kingdom that belongs to the Soul King, Thanatos.

Ryuko let go of his head. She stood up and looked away. So the Soul King was here....then she would have to find him....and make him pay. She looked back at the soul who was still crying.

Ryuko: Hey, weeping soul. Where do I find Thanatos?

The soul did not answer, Ryuko growled as she grabbed his head for the second time and pulled it up.
