I looked at the pictures of my friend group. We all met through our parents, who got drunk one night and decided to make some drunken pact: To name their kids after Greek gods.

We have Nike: She's basically the captain of our soccer team, and they always win competitions.

Alectrona: She loves to go to the beach and get tanned.

Astraea: A 'star girl' as our classmates call her. She's into astrology.

Selene: Astraea's older sister, she's also into astrology.

Hestia: The sweet motherly one of the group, she loves to cook.

Calliope: She loves poetry

Nyx: Selena and Astrea's older sister, who is a kindergarten teacher at my old school.

Athena: Like the goddess, she is obviously smart, top of the class. She helps us with homework and helps us understand the lessons.

Iris: She loves to paint.

Hebe: the young one of the group, the little sister.

Their personalities kind link to the goddesses they were named after:

Hebe is the goddess of youth, so our Hebe is the little sister, the youngest member.

Calliope is the muse of poetry. Our Calliope is into poetry as well.

Both Athenas are smart.

Iris is the goddess of colors, and our Iris paints with so many colors that it turns into a masterpiece.

Hestia is the Greek goddess of the hearth and homes, the hearth is the place where the fireplace is, and we use fire for cooking. Hestia is very home-ly and we feel safe towards her.

Alectrona is a minor goddess, the daughter of Helios, she's the goddess of the sun. Alectrona (or Alex) loves to go to the beach on hot sunny days.

Nike always brings our soccer Team to victory. the real Nike is the goddess of Victory.

Astraea, Selene, and Nyx are all into astrology and the night. Astraea, in greek mythology, is the 'Star Maiden'. Selena is the goddess of the moon, and Nyx is the goddess of the night.

And then we have me: Moni, my real name is actually Harmonia-we all have nicknames so it isn't weird: Athena: Theenie, Selene: Sel, Astraea: Astra, Calliope: Cal, Hestia: Tia, Alectrona: Alex-who is the goddess of Harmony and Concord.

I don't really have anything in relation to the goddess, but I do hate conflict and always manage to find a solution, this bringing back 'harmony', you could say?

We were the main girl group of the school, we were basically friends with everyone.

They called us: 'The goddesses'

Oh the glory days, when I was still there with them...
