"Clay shut up." Harmonia sighs as Dream was fooling around.
The two agreed to help Jasmine further with her research, so they decided to meet up at the public library.
Harmonia was grabbing certain books on the subject, as she and her new friend asked the workers where to find them. Dream was just walking around, trying to see how much he can piss Moni off.
"If you're not gonna help, then you can leave," Moni says sternly as she placed the stack of books in her arms on the table. She took as much from Jasmine as possible, as the poor girl had scoliosis and she didn't want to let her carry heavy stuff.
"Okay, okay, chill. What do you want me to do?" He says, placing his hands on the table, touching the fine wood.
The question was more directed to Jasmine than Harmonia, after all, she knew more about her work than the two did.
"Well, Moni can help with the design of the banner, and Dream and I can work on the information." Moni nods and pulls out her scrapbook kit, which she practically takes everywhere with her.
"Clay, call me Clay, don't want anyone recognizing me." The blonde insisted. Jasmine nods, and the two start noting down their research through the books, on a pencil, of course, then once that was done, they started to write it on a proper sheet of paper, with pens, avoiding grammar mistakes.
This process took forever, that Harmonia was already done with the job she was given when they were still working.
She saw this as a small break and went out of the library to call mom.
As she pressed the call button, she waited.
Her mother did not reply to any of her recent messages or photos, it worried her. She was sick, and she knew that. She was working, and she knew that she was saving bills, she knew that, but can't Harmonia at least talk to the mother she so loved?
No answer.
One more.
...
"Moni?"
"Mom! Why haven't you answered?" Her daughter exclaimed worriedly.
"You know exactly why honey, I'm sick, I can't work right now, but the hospital has been kind to me and let me stay in a room. It seems to be the flu, I'll be fine in no time. I got the flu many times before, I can get back on my legs again.
But, unfortunately, I have very bad news...
It has to do with your father..."
"Oh...Longer sentence?" The poor brunette mumbled.
"As the hospital has been kind to me, it seems like life hasn't been too kind for your father.
There is more evidence coming up, I'm starting to worry if he has truly done what he was wrongly accused of, and it sounds so true..." She starts to sob.
"One of the evidence leads to ANOTHER CRIME, a murder, they think HE did it.
HARMONIA THEY'RE GOING TO DEATH SENTENCE YOUR FATHER! THEY'RE GOING TO KILL HIM-" She started crying through the phone, shouting in emotional pain, while Moni stood there, speechless.
They're, going to kill her dad.
The man who raised her.
Such a lovable father, the best father you could ask for, a life-like his would be wasted...
Tears started falling on her cheeks. She hangs up on the call without a word, and walked back into the library, not muttering a word. It was only when she arrived where Dream and Jasmine were, was when she collapsed on her brother figure, fainting with the tear streaks on her cheeks.
Why must things always happen to her?
There has to be a way right? There must be...
The last thing she heard was Clay shouting in distress.
