Chapter 4

Adley

It felt nice to get out of that ugly white dress and into my comfy clothes again. Not going to lie they are a little small but at this point anything is better than the dress. We all walked into Dr. Turners training room. It was a huge room almost the size of a gym with lots of equipment and strange things such as giant human sized manikins and some strangely lifelike creatures. I shuddered as Dr. Turner began to speak. "Here you will be training to fight and control your powers" he said. "Wait so we aren't going home?!" Katie exclaimed. "You will understand someday that we are doing what's best for you" Katie scoffed. Dr. Turner ignored her. "Adley" He said turning to me. "Can you make me jump 5 times?" I obeyed wanting to prove myself, but then memories of my parents popped up in my mind. So instead, I stuck my hands out and said, "Hit yourself" He raised his hand a very feebly touched the side of his face. "You will be punished for that" He said. Oh Crap. I lowered my hands shamefully but also secretly didn't regret it. "Now try for real this time" He said giving me a second chance. So, I stretched out my hands and said, "Jump 5 times" He jumped twice. "Not bad for a beginner" He said. Then he turned to Katie "Can you try your best and make yourself fully invisible?" she nodded. Katie closed her eyes and for a brief second, she was gone. Then she partially came back but she was faded. She fully came back and gasped. "Good Job!" Dr. Turner exclaimed. Then he looked at Morgan. "So, we have seen you and your force fields but what about that elemental control?" Morgan hesitated slightly before saying "I actually don't know how I feel about this". "What do you mean" Dr.Turner said. "Well, you kind of kidnapped us from our families conducted an experiment without our consent and are now keeping us here against our own free will and forcing us to practise these powers we barely know about." Me Katie and Ardan all smirked at Dr.Turner. You can always count on Morgan to do something like that. But Dr.Turner was not having it. "ENOUGH" he roars causing us to jump slightly. "Here we do NOT tolerate disrespect you will all do what I say or suffer the consequences. We all shut up after that. Morgan found out she could make a short gust of wind blow through the room and block a few butter knives thrown at her with force fields. Then we tried to find out what Ardan could do. Dr. Turner thought she had the same powers as her mom, so we tested it out. Dr.Turner grabbed a pen and told her to make it float. So, she moved her hands the way her mom does, and turquoise coloured energy surrounded her hands. She squealed and did a little jump. "I need you to concentrate" the doctor said. So, she did it again and the pen floated across the room and fell as she lost concentration. "Ok that's enough for today" Dr.Turner said, and we all left the room.

Katie

When Dr. Turner left we all got changed into our clothes that I don't remember having but oh well, I grabbed my clothes and saw that I had black sweatpants and a tight black shirt, not bad if you ask me, but having fancy clothes isn't what's on my mind. It's Dr. Turner, his first name, my dad's name. I haven't really thought of him, it's been three years, I miss him a lot, I know the other girls miss their parents too. I'm the last on to use the bathroom to get ready. It's a nice bathroom, there's even makeup, which is interesting because normally you don't see that every day, but I might as well put some on. As I'm coming out of the bathroom, dressed, my neck, where's my necklace? Crap they took my necklace, how did I let this happen? My sling ring! It's gone all my shit is gone! "Katie, you coming?" Morgan says as everyone is about to leave, I nod my head and walk with them. We finish our training and start to head back, that's when I hear a conversation that's way in front of us, and not in the hearing range. How strange. "Take these files to the record room, it's the girls updated files. Just put them with their weapons." I need my sling ring and my dad's necklace. We all go in the room where we woke up and, I'm shocked, it looks like a dorm room, there's no hospital beds, and it looks like a normal room. My room. The girls are shocked as well, we all run into the bathroom and it's still the same, but it was modern to begin with but now there's loads of makeup and women products. I tell the girls I have to use the bathroom and that gives me time to think of a plan, but that guy who took the files is probably gone still I could go invisible but for how long? Could they still be able to hear me? Probably, in that case I must be quiet and think fast.

Morgan

We were all siting in our room talking. I don't think Katie knows but we all know something is wrong. Shes sitting there and looking at the ground. "are you ok Katie" Adley askes "Ya why wouldn't I be." we all exchange a look. I walked up to her and sat beside her and gave her a hug. I'd prefer fist bumps over hugs, but she looked like she needed one. I stopped and looked at her. "Katie, where is your necklace" Katie looked at me, her eyes watering. She never cries Infront of us, but we all know she wants too sometimes. "I miss him so much" Katie says teering up I look at Adley and Ardan they look confused. Weve never seen Katie cry before. Ardan and Adley got up and came to sit by us. "we all miss our parents but it's going to be ok" I'm not really the best at advice, or pep talks, or cheering people up, or having a calm conversation. "ok? Adley ok, we got kidnapped by people we don't even know, got super powers like planted into us, we have no idea where our parents are let alone if they are even alive and some crazy strangers are basically holding us hostage so if that's ok to you i..." I stop when I see the look of fear in Katie and Adley's eyes. Right after I stop Ardan punches me in the arm. "or you know this is just a big misunderstanding, I mean they could have the wrong people it could be like a boarding school that our parents sent us too to keep us safe." I said. Ardan gave me a confused look like I didn't totally nail that. I totally nailed that. "well Morgan is right and wrong, but mostly wrong" Adley says looking at Katie "our parents wouldn't just give up on us all they want is for us to be safe. So, either this was part of their plan for us, or they are going to find us and take us home safe." Adley finished with a smile. Katie whips her tears away. "Ya, don't worry our parents are fine, and we are going to be fine." Ardan said looking at Katie. "you guys are right we are going to be fine. Thanks guys that meant a lot" Katie said then turned to me "you are slowly improving with your pep talks" I laughed a little before saying thank. My phone buzzed so I took it out of my pocket. It was Garry! The text said you and the girls can take the night off good night. I showed everyone the text and we sat down and went on our phones. Katie still didn't answer my question about the necklace, but I don't want to make her sad. It was weird seeing her sad. I was scrolling through Instagram and I saw a picture of my mom and dad. Do they even miss me? They gave me my old phone back, but they deleted all my contacts so I can't text my parents. But my camera roll is still full. I scroll all the way down and find a video of me and my dad. So, I put my headphones in and play the video. The video is my dad looking at the camera and saying I love you 3000. After I see that video, I got a really sharp pain in my heart and I fell off the bed onto my knees "ahhh" I screamed as I went down. "Morgan!" everyone yelled coming to make sure I was ok. i started breathing deeply every breath hurt. "doctor lee" Adley yelled. "it's going to be ok breathe" Katie exclaimed "i-" right then and there out of nowhere the ground started shaking. "Ahhhh" I screamed struggling to hold myself up. "what's going on" Katie said looking around. Then doctor lee ran into the room struggling not to fall over by the shaking ground.

Ardan

After we calmed down Morgan the ground finally stopped shaking. Morgan fainted and was laying on her bed while Dr. Turner tried to wake her up. "What on earth was that" I said. "It appears her powers are much stronger than we thought" Gary said. "What could have triggered it?" Katie wondered. Adley walked over to Morgans phones and unlocked it. We knew each other's passwords. A video of Morgans Dad popped up. Adley showed Gary the video and he sighed. "Her emotions must have triggered this" he said. "Shes awake!" Dr. Turner yelled. We all rushed beside Morgans bedside as she looked at us with a strange look on her face. "What happened?" She questioned. "You literally caused a freaking earthquake" Katie said. "I did? Cool" Morgan said. We all laughed. "We are going to have to teach you guys how to control your abilities." Dr. Lee said. "Not more training!" I complained. "yes, and you will like it." Dr. Lee said. I mumbled under my breath "Nobody on earth could ever force me to like it." Gary and Dr. Turner left the room and we all sighed. "This doesn't feel creepy in the least to you guys?" Morgan asked. "It totally does!" Katie exclaimed. "We have no way of getting to our families." Adley pointed out. "In their defense they are kind to us." I spoke. "Yes, but we cannot trust them completely. Katie said. "I agree. We should be careful about what we say around them and be careful about what we believe." Adley said. We all nodded in agreement. "For now, let's just be thankful we get Katies awesome room instead of those musty hospital beds." Morgan said. We all laughed and got ready for the night.
