Alex cracked his knuckles. "Are you done hiding, Rapture? Because I am really sick of seeking."
Rapture took a bow. "I have been here the entire time. I haven't been hiding from anyone. You were just too foolish to put the clues together."
Alex jumped down and drew his guns. "Fifty caliber mercury-tipped tungsten bullets soaked in holy water. A demon's ultimate weakness. Not to mention the godkiller enchantment. I heard you boasting earlier. You seem pretty cocky. Care to put that bravado to the test?" He cocked his guns.
Rapture waved his hand and a pair of double-barrelled shotguns appeared at his feet. "A gunfight, is it?" He picked them up and aimed at Alex. "Then it shall be the greatest gunfight of all time!"
Elizabeth and Lauren took cover as Rapture and Alex opened fire on each other.
Alex winced as a slug tore through his right arm, forcing him to drop his gun. He fired back with the other, waiting for the wound to heal so he could use his other gun. When it healed, he scooped it up and drove the barrel into Rapture's eye. "Bang."
He blasted Rapture backward onto a conveyor belt, watching as Rapture's guns clattered to the floor.
"Are you done yet?"
Rapture laughed and floated over everyone. "Is that the best you can do, Alex? If so, then you're all doomed. Holy water-soaked bullets? Godkiller enchantments? I'm immune to all of it. There's nothing that can kill me!"
"What about me, old friend?"
Rapture looked up and his eyes widened in horror. "Stonevas? But how? That's impossible."
Stonevas lowered to eye level with Rapture. "He may not be able to kill you, but I know that I can."
Elizabeth looked back and forth between the two, her mind blank from confusion. How was this possible? How was he still alive? She killed him. As Rapture said, it was impossible for him to be alive. "Wha- what ... how are you alive?"
Stonevas glared at her, then back to Rapture. "Your queen failed, Rapture. It's over."
Rapture laughed. "Wrong again, Daniel. Or should I say, Alex," He drove a clawed hand into his chest and the illusion faded. Stonevas was gone and Old Alex was there. "Stupid fool. Did you really think you could win? Did you think you could fool me? I am the greatest deceiver of them all!" he threw Old Alex against the wall and watched as he crashed to the ground. Alex shot Rapture twice in the face, then struck him with the butt of his guns, knocking him down. He laughed as he stood up, catching a bullet from Alex's gun in his teeth.
"If it's a fight you want, then a fight you'll get." He waved his hand and Blackcaster flew between them. He looked into Alex's eyes. "Forgive me for whatever happens." He fired and Alex ducked the shot, responding with a shot of his own. He watched as the bullets tore through his opponent's skull, splattering the wall with black blood.
Alex planted his heel on Blackcaster's throat and kicked his gun away. "Yield and I will spare you. Fight and I will kill you."
Blackcaster kicked his counterpart aside and grabbed his gun, aiming it at Rapture.
"I am done with your games. You may have my soul, but you will never have my allegiance."
Rapture clapped sarcastically.
"Fool. Do you think it's that easy? That you can just snap your fingers and everything is fine? NO! I WILL NOT TOLERATE THIS! IF YOU DON'T SERVE ME, THEN I HAVE NO FURTHER USE FOR YOU! DIE!"
He lunged and slashed open Blackcaster's throat with a swipe of his claws.
Elizabeth brandished her tendrils and lifted herself into the air.
"Leave him alone. He did as you said."
Rapture waved his hand and Elizabeth was pulled to him. He snapped a clawed hand around her throat. "I would watch your tongue, woman. One wrong move and our daughter can die. Don't force me to make that decision."
