Chapter 38- Distance and Forgiveness

Violetta and Angie had left for the studio early because Angie was avoiding Herman again. Herman called Violetta and told her to come home.

Violetta “Angie do you know what my Dad wants?”.

Angie “No I don’t Vilu”.

Violetta and Angie carried on walking through the park until they reached the house. Herman was sat in the living room with Ramallo.

Violetta “Hey Dad, What’s so urgent that it couldn’t wait?”

Herman “Hey Vilu. Nothing I wanted to talk everyone out for dinner”.

He looked at Angie and she put her head down.

Violetta “Okay Dad. Come on Angie let’s go get ready”.  Violetta grabbed Angie’s hand and pulled her upstairs to her room.

Violetta “Come on  Angie. You need to start getting ready”.

Angie “Wow hold up Vilu what’s the rush?. It’s only a dinner”.

Violetta “Maybe so but you still need to get dressed”.  Angie laughed.

Angie left and went to her room. She walked up to her wardrobe ad picked out  a red dress that was longer at the back and shorter at the front. She then picked her favourite tanned wedges. She put her hair half up half down style. She put her silver dangly earrings in. There was a knock at the door. It was Violetta she was gobsmacked.

Angie “What do I look bad?”.

Violetta “No you look amazing Angie”.

Angie “You looked beautiful Vilu”.

Violetta “Come on Angie. Let’s down stairs”.  Violetta and Angie headed downstairs. Herman was wearing a black suit.

Herman “You look beautiful Angie”.  Violetta was smiling like mad.

Angie “Yeah thanks”. Herman could tell Angie was still angry at him. Then there was a scream. It was Jade. She came running downstairs.

Herman “What’s the matter Jade?”.

Jade “I broke a nil. Now they don’t match. I’m staying here. You go out. Ahhhhhhhh!”.   She ran back upstairs to her room. Angie and Violetta started laughing. Herman turned around and they immediately stopped laughing. Olga and Ramallo appeared ready to go.

Herman “Well let’s go eat”. They all walked to Herman’s car.

Ramallo “Here Angie. You can sit in the front”. Herman looked at Angie.

Angie “I’m fine on the back Ramallo. Olga can sit in front”.

Olga switched places with Ramallo. Herman looked disappointed. He knew Angie would do everything it takes to keep the distance between them. When they reached the restaurant Ramallo helped Olga out. While Violetta and Angie walked linking each other. Herman was trailing behind them. The waiter showed them to their table. Ramallo helped, Olga, Violetta and Angie into their seats. Herman looked on.

As they were looking at their menus Herman lowered his menus slightly so he could see Angie. He smiled at her sweetly She noticed this and she quickly buried her head into her menu. Herman chuckled to himself. Angie couldn’t help but blush even though she was angry at him.

…………………1 Hour Later……………

After they ordered their meals and drinks Herman made many attempts to start up a conversation but they all fell flat. 

Angie “Excuse me I’m just going to the ladies”. Herman watched Angie walk away. He knows this was his chance to talk to her alone.

Herman “I’m just going to the gents”.

 Violetta looked away and smirked she knew what he was doing. Herman waited outside for Angie. When she came out she was shocked to see him pressed up against the wall.  She went to leave but he grabbed her hand and she turned around.

Herman “Please Angie let me apologise”.

Angie “Well go on. I’m waiting”. She folded her arms.

Herman “I’m sorry Angie. I shouldn’t of blamed you. It wasn’t your fault. I was wrong to blame you”.

Angie “Okay Herman I forgive you”.  Angie hugged Herman. They returned to join the others.  Everyone was all smiles. Angie noticed Violetta staring at her. Angie also saw Herman looking at her. She started to blush. Violetta kicked Angie from under the table.

Angie “Ouch!”.

Ramallo “You okay Angie?”.

Angie “Yes Ramallo I’m fine. I just stood on my own foot that’s all”. Angie looked directly at Violetta she was glaring. Violetta started laughing.

Herman “Something funny Vilu?”. He said taking a sip of his drink.

Violetta “No nothing?”.

The waiter came over and Herman handed him the money. They all got up to leave. Herman held out his arm for Angie to link. She looked at him for a minute then took it. They walked out the restaurant and headed towards the car. Angie sat in the back again however this time Ramallo drove. Herman kept looking at Angie in the mirror. She was staring out the window. They arrived home and Herman helped Angie out of the car. They couldn’t stop ooking st each other. They walked into the house. Ramallo and Olga went to bed. Violetta went to get a glass of water. She said goodnight to her Dad and Angie. It was just them stood in the living room. Angie broke the silence.

Angie “Well I’m off to bed. Goodnight Herman”. She kissed Herman on the cheek.

Herman “Goodnight Angie”. He was smiling from ear to ear. He couldn’t hide it.
