OLIVIA 'LIV' MOORE has always wanted children.
A perfect husband, a white picket fence house with a wrap-around porch, and a chair to sit out front with to drink lemonade and watch her kids play in the yard.
But that isn't what happened.
Instead, she had attended a boat party without her fiancé—whom she had thought was the love of her life at the time—and was scratched by a zombie.
To make matters worse, her adoptive daughter had gotten scratched as well.
From there, everything had gone downhill.
Forever frozen at the age they turned, the two were stuck eating brains for the foreseeable future.
Liv had no choice but to quit her job as a cardio-thoracic surgery resident to instead work in a morgue so she and Millie could eat brains without suspicion.
It was there that they had met and befriended Ravi, who also worked at the morgue, and who had found out their secret fairly quickly.
Of course, Liv hadn't kept to herself, deciding to help the police with investigations, which is where she had met and befriended Clive, a homicide detective.
Months later, there had been a big case that Liv and Clive had disappeared on for longer than necessary, so Millie had eaten a portion of the victim's brain and gone to help.
She had found Liv and Clive being held hostage by a group of men, and had unfortunately gone full-on zombie mode.
Alaric Saltzman had been led to Millie by a spell, not expecting to see her tearing into people like a rabid animal.
He had shot Millie a few times with his crossbow, making her scream out in pain.
And just as he'd been about to kill her, Liv had appeared, drawn to her daughter's distress.
Enraged, Liv had attacked Alaric, broken his weapon in half, and shoved him against a tree before she had gone to comfort Millie.
Alaric had realised what happened—the girl didn't have control over whatever abilities she had—and had calmly approached them, informing them of the Salvatore School.
It had taken two days before they agreed on Millie attending—Liv didn't trust the man who had previously shot arrows at her daughter.
It had been Ravi and Clive who talked her into it, knowing Millie needed to get a grip on her abilities and live life as a regular teenager.
Now, in the present, Liv is walking inside the Salvatore School doors, doing her best to sneak in and surprise her daughter.
She moves towards the main area, pausing, her eyes widening and mouth gaping open in surprise.
