THE WEEKEND HAS finally come around, and Hope is now confident enough to ask Millie out.

She decides to dress up and spritz herself with Millie's favourite scent: strawberries. She puts on high-waisted skinny jeans, a Y2K white cropped camisole tank top with mini strawberries printed on the fabric, and a cropped green sweater.

As she walks into the yard where field days are spent or football games played, Hope frowns and pauses at seeing Millie talking to a rather cute-looking boy.

The two seem to be having a nice conversation if Millie's actions are anything to go by—smiling widely and twirling her hair around her finger.

The boy is smiling and leaning into the blonde's personal space.

Tilting her head, Hope taps into her enhanced hearing to snoop on their conversation. She isn't trying to be nosy... but she doesn't like the twinkle in the boy's eyes when he looks at what is hers.

Not that she thinks Millie a possession. But Hope wants her.

God, she desperately wants Millie to the point she thinks her heart might give out if the girl were to ever leave her life.

Perhaps a tad dramatic, all things considered, but Hope Mikaelson has abandonment problems... something she talks about quite often with her therapist.

The boy chuckles. "Millie... you're such a bubbly, cute girl. I think..." He leans down, reaching over to twirl a strand of her hair around his finger. "Would you like to go out with me sometime?"

Before Hope herself could think clearly or even blink, she's at Millie's side in an instant, growling and clenching her jaw so tightly she feels like her teeth might fall out.

She grabs Millie's hand and pulls her away before the blonde can even process what the boy even asked her.

Although Millie is confused, her mouth is agape and her eyes wide as saucers as she stares at the back of Hope's head.

Gosh, she is so hot!

When the two are far enough away from anyone else, Hope stops abruptly and spins around to stare heatedly at Millie.

Millie basically melts into a puddle at the look in Hope's eyes. She blinks and suddenly her face is being grabbed and she's pulled into a kiss.

Time seems to stop when their lips touch. Millie can almost feel the pounding of her heartbeat. She can't focus on anything but Hope's soft mouth.

Hope hums, lips slowly moving with Millie's as her fingers smooth a few strands of blonde hair away from her face.

The pleasant, tingling feeling in Millie's stomach grows stronger at the gentle touch.

Up until this point, Millie has barely moved—her eyes wide, mouth slightly agape, and her hands limp by her sides.

She closes her eyes slowly and hums contentedly, raising a hand to gently hold the back of Hope's head, dainty fingers burrowing into the soft locks.

The magical moment soon ends. Hope sighs, very carefully stepping away from her with her blue eyes glistening.

Millie can't help but lean forward and try to follow her with her mouth. She swallows before grinning, quickly grabbing Hope by her neck and pulling her into another mind-blowing kiss.

Hope makes a noise in the back of her throat at the sudden action, but ultimately loves Millie's silent demand for more.

She presses their bodies closer together, her hands circling the blonde's waist, fingers digging gently into the skin of her waist showing from her shirt riding up.

The zombie moans slightly, licking at Hope's lip.

Without hesitation, the auburn-haired girl opens her mouth and allows their tongues to meet.

It's a surprising move—for both of them—but it's thrilling and leaves them both panting.

"Finally!" Someone shouts nearby, and the two quickly let go of one another.

Millie and Hope turn to see Lizzie holding a camera, having taken a picture of their kiss, and Josie is just behind her clapping and smiling.

Behind the twins, Caroline stands there, smiling softly at the couple.

Both of them turn a dark shade of red at being caught. Hope grabs Millie's hand, entwining their fingers and pulling the girl off into the woods, both of them giggling.

When they come to a stop, out of breath and still chuckling, they're at their spot—the deck by the lake.

The two girls turn to the other, still blushing, and their eyes wide. "I love you," the two blurt out at the same time.

They pause, staring at one with wide eyes before giggling.

Hope smiles when she realises they're still holding hands, and tugs Millie closer to her. She grins and reaches forward to tuck a strand of Millie's hair behind her ear. "You're so pretty."

Millie bites her lip and looks down. "Thanks," she mutters, glancing up at Hope beneath her eyelashes. "You're like a painting. So pretty and unbelievable."

Hope licks her lips and pulls the girl into a soft kiss before putting their foreheads together. "I'm lucky you came into my life."

Millie tilts her head up and presses a kiss to Hope's nose. "No, I'm lucky you came into my life."

Hope shakes her head in disbelief at the pretty girl in front of her before tugging her down to sit on the deck.

They lie back, staring up at the blue sky, their hearts pounding in their chests.
