The Spire (POV)

Log 14

> You try to strike Kyros with your blade.

You swing your blade with all of the force you can muster, as Kyros leaps to the side. Your sword clashes with his, and a wave of force runs through your body.

Surely enough, your blade cannot cut through Kyros' weapon. Makes sense, since he was once a former agent of the RCC.

There's a moment of silence. Then, Kyros' massive body begins to shake vigorously. It is then that you see his crazed expression once again, as he lets out a roar of anger.

> You jump back and try to see if Kyros has any tricks up his sleeve.

As Kyros continues to shake, a deep growling sound begins to emanate from his throat. Then, you see it. From the neck of Kyros, a red beam of light fires towards you.

> You say "A thermonium crystal huh? Bet that operation hurt a lot"

You throw yourself out of the way, and the laser hits a collapsed wall instead, causing an explosion. The blast catches you full on, and you feel a tremendous force blowing you back.

> You immediately recover back on your feet and launch your dagger at Kyros' neck.

You leap backwards, and the dagger flies towards Kyros. The knife hits his neck, and Kyros lets out a roar of pain.

His skin is certainly tough, but his neck is made of sterner stuff.

As expected, the dagger simply falls off and the crystal is undamaged. You need to destroy it somehow

> You lunge at Kyros again.

You rush at Kyros, who is still shaking from his injury. As you get closer, Kyros rears back his arm, and fires a pulse of energy at you.

> You continue to rush at him.

You are so close that you can feel the heat coming off of his thermonium crystal. You need to smash the crystal, now.

Before you can swing your sword and behead Kyros once and for all, he steps back, and activates his cloaking device, becoming invisible. You look around, but can't see him.

> You brace yourself from possible strikes from Kyros.

He strikes, with both his hands wrapped into fists. One smashes into your chest, and the other into your face. You fly backwards, hitting some rubble.

"WELL WELL WELL. I GUESS YOU CAN'T FIGHT AN ENEMY YOU CAN'T SEE! SO LIKE THE RCC. THEY CAN'T SEE IMPORTANT THINGS WHEN IT'S OUT OF SIGHT. HOW PITIFUL!", Kyros gloats as he readies for another strike.

You are left stunned and coughing up blood.

"Hmm. You seem quite durable. I wonder if you have some kind of weak spot I can attack? Perhaps your eyes? I know. How about your neck?"

You recoil in pain as Kyros' fists contact your stomach, numbing it.

"Ha ha! How's that?"

You wince and give a laugh, anything to relieve the pain.

"You're... you're going to have to do better than that."

> You turn the blade's brightness up to maximum to try and blind Kyros.

With the blade on maximum brightness, Kyros squints as he tries to see it. Kyros grits his teeth, wincing, and readies his hands.

This isn't going to win the fight of course. The blade only has so much energy. The flash will most likely stop in a few seconds. You need to think of something...
