Concrete screams, buildings rumble, and the sky is as black as the void of space, but you mind is only on one thing. Your objective. Hiding. For both of you.
You look back, and are glad to see Kyros still hasn't reacted. You try to put as much distance as you can, hoping he doesn't see you before it's too late.
Meanwhile...
Kyros stands there, completely unfazed by what just happened. The lightning attack got his armor to give off a faint crackling sound, but after that it's back to normal.
He simply looks down, and seeing the glowing armor on his body, understands what he has done. A small chuckle escapes his lips.
"Yes...perfect...", he says to himself, his voice deep and booming.
Then, he looks up, seeing you and Uzu running. His face darkens.
"I'm sorry, little one", he says, his voice now cold and quiet.
He takes a few steps forward, charging up another bolt of lightning, then fires it at you both.
> You grab Uzu and sidestep.
You quickly pull Uzu behind you, but Kyros' speed is nearly instantaneous. He rams into you from the front, sending you and Uzu to the ground.
> You say "Damn it, you just can't quit can you?"
Kyros chuckles, and you find yourself in the exact same position as before, except this time he is standing above you. Uzu is trying to stand up.
The force of the blast has knocked your Arts Blade aside, and you have no weapons powerful enough to disable Kyros with.
"I can't wait for the day when you're useful", Kyros says, looking down at you and raising an eyebrow, "when you actually contribute something worthwhile to the Devourers".
> You say "Over my dead body"
You need to hold out a little longer. Uzume is behind Kyros, trying to stand up. But she can't. And neither can you.
You stare up at Kyros, who looks down at you, his cold eyes showing no sign of emotion.
> You say "I guess this is the end, huh?"
Kyros shrugs, the action causing his armor to scrape against each other.
"When you're outmatched by your opponents, it seems to me you make an attempt to end the fight as quick as you can"
> You say "No shit, sherlock"
"No, I don't think you do"
Kyros raises his bolt pistol, pointing it at your head.
"I think you'd rather prolong the inevitable"
Blood flows from your head, obscuring your vision. You can feel your life eking out with every second that passes.
Chlack!
...
"HEY WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU-"
You open your eyes. An old man, about 60-ish, is standing above you, a bent metal rod in his hands. He looks down, seeing that you're still alive.
"Oh, hey."
> You say "Didn't think you'd be here, Zuker". You pick up your Arts Blade.
"No, I was just here for the hell of it. I know this poor bastard had a shit day, and I just sort of wanted to end it quickly"
