> You look through the cabinets.
All the cabinets seemed to be secured with simple metal bars. The cabinet doors themselves were locked, and none of the cabinets appeared to have any contents. A quick glance through them did not reveal what you were looking for.
> You sleep on the couch.
Uzu curls up next to you on the couch.
"This is comfy," she says, smiling.
You smile back faintly as she puts her arm around you. Today was a long day, and as Uzu embraces you, you have a feeling that it was worth it.
...
Next day, you are searching for the actytaczyl that your Handler said would be in Vusmith. But with the town now ravaged by yesterday's fight, it's going to be hard to find. Almost every house in the vincinity was either charred or pulverized to rubble. This is going to be hard.
You decide to search the central tower. It's the tallest building in the town, and you think you have a good chance of finding what you need there. So you decide to start walking there.
> You head to the central tower with Uzu.
Uzu strolls along beside you, taking up the lead.
The door to the tower is locked, but you have Uzu pick the lock in seconds, then you both enter. You were trained for this, luckily.
The room is dimly lit, and streaked with soot and grime. A single mid-range light bulb hanging from the ceiling gives off a dirty yellow glow. There are a few desks and chairs lining the walls, and piles of trash and used paper litter the floor. All the occupants of the room are pretty much nonexistent.
On the far side of the room stands a metal door with a large cross carved into it. Nothing more. There are no stairs around, or any other door for that matter, so this door is the only entrance to the upper levels of the tower.
"I wonder what's behind that?" Uzu asks.
"I have no idea," you reply.
> You slice down the door with your Arts Blade.
You take your stance, then swing your blade towards the door. With precise timing, you manage to sever the metal door with only a small amount of effort.
"That was easy," you say.
"Hm, I suppose it was," she replies, throwing her hands up.
You both search the room, but find nothing of interest. There are stairs in the corner however, which you gladly take upwards.
> You head upwards the building.
You head towards the center of the building. You make your way up the spiraling staircase, reaching the top floor. You begin to look around, hoping to find some containers. You search each of the cells lining the wall, but find no containers, only fragments of darkness. Along with the cells, you also search the toilets, and even check the showers, but all are empty. You sigh as you make your way to the next floor.
Once you reach the top floor, you see several doors lining the hallway. You try the first one on the left, and find a small bathroom. Nothing of interest here. Next you try the one on the right, and find a sizable storage room. You shrug and move on. The door on the left leads to the roof. You open the door and find yourself on a raised platform, looking over the city. There is no one else here, so you take the time to look around.
> You say "Never realized Vusmith was so big"
"Hm," Uzu replies, absent-mindedly twirling her hair with her finger.
