Chapter 23: Hours before

-Flashback-
"What's the plan?" Hoseok asked making the two policemen look at each other before nodding.
"Before everything we must share some information." Jisung started making you all look at him with some curiosity.
"Jieun said that she smells fertilizer and grass so we look at the landscapers in the city, it being the most rational thing to do since it was the only job which result in having that singular smell" logic enough for you. The killer should be a landscaper.
"... And one name caught our attention, he was the landscaper of Mr. Sung and Mr. Ahn, the father of Ahn Yoora but the more shocking is that his name is So Jaeseok and considering the fact that he went missing eleven years ago, he may have been one of the kids that were in the mansion. His name is So Jungkyung" Jisung explained making you tighten your grip on Jungkook's hand, you wouldn't have forget someone, right?
"No, it's impossible,... I made it in all the room" Taehyung stated firmly making Misun nod.
"Yes, we made it in every room. There were anyone else" Misun added agreeing with Taehyung.
"Everyone was in the East" Jungkook exclaimed but when he said it, you cover your mouth with your hand. Your friends were there only for two years, they didn't know.
"No, not everyone, there was a room near Eden's office... Anyone got there except someone who Eden wants to torture." You stated putting the piece all together. You already get in this room, you were kind of passive at the orphanage but he sometimes made you watch some people getting hit just to train your mind to obey him. A real psycho for short. There was this little crack on the brick wall that can give a sight to Eden's office from the torture room. It is why the killer have seen you. Anyone knew how you killed him and what you said and did.
"I... I didn't... I thought anyone was there... I thought since it was the bidding the next day he wouldn't do... Something" you forgot someone. You were there since six years, you should have basically known everyone by then. But you forgot one person and this little oblivion get you to an hell.
Your legs gave up, you fell on your knees. You forgot someone, that could have been died in the fire that you and your friends set. If only you had remembered that Eden had this room, you could have protected this person. Instead you left him in a mansion that you burnt afterwards.
"Hey, hey... It's not your fault. You couldn't have thought of that after killing someone and trying to free forty five persons of some kind of jail" Taehyung tried to reassure you but that didn't work that well. If you just checked, anyone would be dead and your friends won't be in danger.
"Anything would have happened if I... If I just..." You were angry at yourself, you are partly responsible and you are well aware of it.
"You won't blame yourself. Not this time. Look you have done enough so don't dare to blame yourself, you can't rewind the time..." Jungkook begin kneeling in front of you, cupping one of your cheek with his hand, making you face him.
"... He is the one who decided to kill them not you so he is going to be the one that will pay. He don't have the right to blame you, anyone have" he added making you nod. You  made an error one time and you sure regret it more than anything right now and will regret the rest of your life but this killer hadn't the right to murder everyone and try to kill your friends.
You have to stop this before someone else get hurt. You look up at Jimin wiping your tears away.
"What's the plan?"....

"Remember, y/n. We just need to make him admit... Don't try anything stupid" Jisung reminded you. The plan was simple, you have to make him spill an evidence or admit his crime. This is the only way the file will get to the court. You had a little, invisible mic on your chest that can register him, Jimin and Jisung were just two kilometers away with other policemen and the prosecutor, so you don't have to worry. More easy to say than to do...
"Understood" you answered nervous as hell. You claps your hand together trying to make them stop shaking in fear.
"If you ever feel in danger all you have to say is 'don't hurt me', as soon as you say it we will arrive, okay?" Jimin stated with a reassuring voice and a smile. You nodded breathing deeply before going out of the van.
"I'll go now" you looked at the two policemen one last time whom give you a nod before walking to your six other friends.
"Be careful" Seokjin had to held on his anxiousness trying to fight it as much as he can, like everyone else.
"Don't put yourself in danger uselessly" Taehyung added. You nod smiling to reassure them.
Surprisingly Yoongi hugged you tightly making you hug back despite the surprise.
"You don't have the right to leave me so you better come back in one piece" he tried to threaten but fail miserably as his voice came  out shakily.
"I will come back lil meow meow. I promise" he loosened the hug and let you go blinking the tears away, for one time he wasn't upset with you calling him with this nickname that he finds awfully stupid. You just smile a bit feeling anxious as well.
Jieun and Hoseok gave up and cried making your tears threatening to fall too.
"Don't cry... I will come back" your lips were quivering while talking, but bit your lower lip harshly to try to stay strong.
"I promise I'll come back" It's maybe the millionth time you said this today but you didn't convince anyone at all. You, yourself didn't find it convincing, after all, it is comprehensible considering the fact that you were gonna be alone with a killer in the mansion where everything begun.
You hug them one last time before going to Jungkook who stood near his car the whole time. You walk to him with a smile. You were about to talk when he cut you.
"Don't promise me you will come back... I know how dangerous it is and I'm conscious about the fact that you may be hurt badly" he stated quickly with a shaky voice, almost panting when he finished. He tried  to protest to tell you that it was too risked but you are too stubborn and convincing that he didn't oppose at the end.
You wrap your arms around him hugging him tightly, you too you were afraid of the worst but you have to, you need to do it for you and for them.
"I love you more than anything" you mumbled against his chest, enough for him to hear you. He tightens his grip his chin on top of your head.
"I love you too more than anything" he replied with a weak smile, he pulls away slowly looking at you, holding your face at each side.
"If you ever feel that you are in danger, get out of there as soon as possible, understood?" He was stern and more than serious while saying it, there was no joking about this subject and you were well aware.
"Yes, understood" you replied with a weak smile trying to reassure him the best you can.
He cupped your cheeks softly and take your lips in his, kissing you sweetly, you soon kiss back devouring Hus lips like the world will end and you won't be able to kiss him anymore after this.
You eventually pull away slowly after three solid minutes, resting your forehead in his.
"I love you... Don't worry I'll be back" he nodded along the sentence trusting you won't put yourself in danger.
"I love you too babe" even in the worst moments this pet name always manage to make your heart flutters and he knows it damn well.
"See you later" and with that you completely pull away from him, he gave him his car keys and you enter in. You drove just two kilometers and park the car again, acting like you drove from home to here. Let's catch this killer...
