Jackson is one of the first employees of Maharaja Sahib's foreign servants.  Research shows that he was a lieutenant in the company's Bengal artillery before coming to Punjab.  After returning to India for a long time, he reached Lahore in the year 2000, and on seeing his work, Sherry Punjab took him into artillery.  He remained in the service of the Pag Khalsa for about three years and died in Lahore on the 1825.  Jackson's regiment was handed over to William Louis, who had just arrived in Lahore by chance.
