"Yes, please." You accepted. He chuckled, finding you adorable. He readjusted your figure, placing your legs down so your feet touched the floor of his bedroom and he got up, letting out a hand which you gladly took, and helped you stand up. "Do you need help with anything?" He asked eagerly.

You looked down at yourself, glancing at your dress and heels on the floor next to Ethan's bed. "Well, I need some fresh clothes. Plus I probably look terrible right now." As you spoke, you gently swiped two fingers under your eyes and looked at them, seeing the slight residue of blackened makeup on your fingers and gesturing towards it to Ethan.

He tilted his head a bit at you and chuckled. "Come on now, you don't look like a complete wreck. I've seen worse at school." The two of you let out a short wheeze, completely knowing what he's talking about. You smiled at him, knowing his witty humor. "Okay okay. We'll get you cleaned up. You can wear my clothes if you don't mind." You nodded at him in approval. "I'm fine with that. I don't mind." You replied. You noticed Ethan become flushed as he smiled and looked away from your face for a second. The thought of you in his clothes made him slightly flustered.

"Do you happen to have any makeup wipes?" You perked up. "Um.. not that I know of." Ethan scratched the back of his neck out of slight guilt, not really familiar with the products you use and wishing he could provide anything for you. "What about soap and a towel at least?" You suggested. He felt his shoulders slouch down in relief. "I most certainly have that. Here." He opened his bedroom door, motioning for you to follow him. You obliged and ended up in his bathroom while he handed you a towel and showed you the soaps he had in a small cabinet.

You picked out what you wanted and thanked him as he stood in the doorway watching you with a small smile. "Alright. I'll be in my room getting some clothes for you. If you need anything, I'm down the hall." He nodded at you and you nodded back, understanding what he said as he closed the door of the bathroom behind him and walked away, hearing his footsteps fading down the hallway into his room.

After you washed your makeup off, your skin now bare against the crisp air, that small shield of sticky, clunky foundation being removed to show your more natural complexion, you walked back to Ethan's room to see him laying on the bed, eyes on his phone. Once you entered, he smiled at you and turned his phone off, staring at your face. "Hey hot stuff. Here's your clothes." He teased, jerking his head towards the neat pile of fresh clothes at the edge of his bed where you two were sitting before. You tried to have a witty comeback to say but you simply laughed it off and shook your head, a small crimson tone of blush grazing your cheeks and a smile you couldn't suppress tugging at the corners of your lips.

You got dressed into a comfy crew neck and sweatpants, all of it being slightly oversized on you but liking the extra layers of warmth it brought to your skin. When you were done changing, you gave Ethan a little spin, showing off his clothes on your body. He chuckled at your attempts to giving him good poses, his blush only intensifying. "You look great." He said. "And I feel good! Let's go doofus." You exclaimed, making the two of you laugh. You extended a hand for him to grab and he took it willingly, helping him get up out of bed and dragging him towards his front door. He lended you a pair of his shoes that were smaller on him and it somehow fit you pretty well.

Before you knew it, both of you were out the door and into the night, feeling the fresh air from a slight summer breeze brush against you, your hair trailing behind while you two walked and semi-jogged, switching between a random pattern of speed adapting to the two of you as you both goofed around on the small walk. You noticed how much you were smiling while you slowed down, catching your breath from panting. You felt a lot better, relieved that you were hanging out with Ethan instead of going to prom. And you also felt butterflies being around him, remembering the moment he confessed to you and you kissed him. How long ago was that? It felt like fleeting moments ago.

Once you got to [insert the name of a convenience store here], you both got inside and bought each other's orders of random snacks and drinks. You two had a small tradition where you'd get each other's stuff for them and then exchange them later instead of buying your stuff for yourself. When checking out at the register, you realized you forgot to bring money, but it was too late as you watched Ethan bring out his wallet and pay for everything. While walking out of the convenience store, you lightly slapped his arm and scolded him for paying. "Dude you didn't have to do that! I'll pay for my stuff. What does the receipt say?" "Y/n, don't worry about it. I already got it." He reassured you, shaking his head at you while handing you your drink.

He offered to walk to the park and you agreed, both of you now ending up at a small park nearby with a few walkways and a playground in the middle. Your childish instincts took the best of you and you immediately ran over to the playground, sitting in the middle of a random roundabout and leaning your back against the rails. Ethan did the same, sitting cross-legged across from you, only inches away. He offered to spin the roundabout and within seconds, got the disc going, both of you holding on to the rails while screaming your hearts out. The time at the park was spent stealing each other's food and running around on random park equipment, most of the equipment's size funnily looking minuscule compared to the size of full grown teenagers who were running around like adrenaline junkies.

Eventually, when the both of you calmed down after a fake game of brutal tag to get at each other, you both jogged, bags of snacks in hand, on the walkway that's leading as an invisible exit out of the park. The two of you continued talking and goofing around, trying to roast each other and get some gossip in. Ethan fell a bit silent after having a fit of laughter with you, watching your figure run up and jump onto a park bench, balancing on the edge of it. There was a full moon tonight and its glow was projecting straight on to you. As you turned your head to look up at the moon, you unknowingly gave Ethan a view of your side profile. He silently watched, your y/h/c hair flowing behind you, the moonlight illuminating your facial features, making you look like a greek goddess in his eyes, as he ignored how progressive his heartbeats were getting the more he stared at you.

Before long, he felt the need to do it. He couldn't hold back anymore and he felt that this was the time to say what he's been wanting to ask after his successful confession. The more he looked at you, the more beautiful you became to him like a priceless painting in an art museum, and it didn't take long before he got to his breaking point.

"Hey, y/n." You looked back at him, still balancing on the bench, almost at the end of it. You decided to heck with it and jump down from the bench, getting your feet back on the pavement of the walkway and turned your body towards Ethan, giving him your full attention. "Yes?" "Do you wanna be my girlfriend?" He asked, watching your reaction carefully as his heart began to pound loudly in his ears out of nervousness. An immediate warmth spread throughout your stomach and chest, and you felt yourself inevitably grinning at him.

You walked closer to him, your faces now inches apart, giving him a better view of your expression, one side of your face moonlit. The corners of his lips were tugging harshly at his mouth, but he suppressed his smile, hiding his excitement yet nervousness as he thought about what you could possibly say, trying to read past your face.

"I'd love to, Ethan." You replied. He officially let go of the practical weight he was feeling in his chest, smiling at you while staring at every feature he could take in on your face. The two of you kept staring at one another, not realizing how long you two were standing there in the middle of the park's walkway before Ethan cleared his throat, interrupting the moment awkwardly but still having euphoric, affectionate smiles plastered on your faces. "Let's head home, shall we?" He asked, holding out his hand. You looked at him with a sincere expression and giggled quietly, nodding at him.

You put your hand in his, feeling both of your fingers intertwining perfectly like they were meant to be touching the way they were at that very moment. Once he started walking, you kept close to him, walking directly beside him while both of your hands swung loosely between the two of you. Your hands being intertwined the way they were represented a chain of closeness between friends who didn't know they'd blossom into lovers that prom night.
